More Storyboard Leaks

https://web.archive.org/web/20230320...moe/j413o3.pdf
https://web.archive.org/web/20230320...moe/940s1n.pdf

Edit: The Wayback Machine does not work anymore but I found someone else had them uploaded elsewhere, though this one will require a download:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/63q34...eleek.zip/file

Alright, so this one requires the Wayback Machine but I managed to back the files myself, so I might be able to fix this if it fails. This gives us greater insight into the plot of the movie:
  • TCRI are creating mutants to further science and have a cure in case they go rogue. It's not clear if they are aliens but the name Cynthia "Utrom" does imply they are indeed Utroms.
  • All the Mutants started out as animals here, there is no indication that any of them used to be human. Yes, this includes Bebop and Rocksteady.
  • The main villain of the movie appears to be Super-Fly, who tricks the Turtles into helping him and he harbours some resentment towards Cynthia Utrom for killing his "father" (I guess that could be Baxter, could just as easily be a joke about dispoable flies are as lab animals).
  • His plan is to unleash a giant mutant creature made of fused together animals and him and his mutants offer the turtles to help turn the world into a mutant haven, which they refuse because filling the world with mutants is wrong.
  • Leatherhead, Mondo Gecko, the Punk Frog, Ray Fillet, Wingnut and virtually all the other mutants are villains. Ironically, the only true mutant ally is Scumbug.
  • All the Mutants except for the Turtles, Splinter and Scumbug are turned back into animals. Yes, that includes Bebop and Rocksteady, so they probably won't be characters in any sequels.
  • The climax reveals the Turtles are seen as dangerous creatures but they choose to stop the giant chimera creature regardless.

Not a complete reveal of the plot, obviously, but that's still quite a lot.

Does not seem to be a great plot but it does amuse me that somehow, the writers at least showed way more sense about how the turtles should react to the idea of the world being turned into a mutated hellscape than Sophie Campbell did...

Based on this, the other leaked storyboard, the leaked concept art and the official trailer, we can pretty much already piece together what the plot movie is going to be. It's likely going to be something like this:
  • A basic retelling of Splinter's Mirage/4Kids/1990 origin, with him discovering the turtles in a sewer drain when they're still all regular animals.
  • The Turtles are discovered by April when she is investigating something weird about TCRI.
  • The Turtles agree in exchange for being accepted into society.
  • The Turtles are contacted by Super-Fly who will help them for his own needs.
  • Cynthia Utrom sends out Bebop and Rocksteady, probably with some other mutants, to stop them.
  • They eventually end up at TCRI where Super-Fly enacts his plan.
  • All the Mutants are cured (with the possible exception of Scumbug) and all is well, except the Turtles need to stick to the shadows.
  • Probably some last minute teaser about the Shredder or Cynthia Utrom revealing herself to be an alien.

That could be fun if the execution is on point. Nothing egregious, considering the target audience.

A female Scumbug who Splinter apparently has a thing for was NOT someone I had on my bingo card for this movie, let alone as part of the MAIN CAST! Also, I see Scale Tail! As for the previously revealed muties, LH's characterization looks exactly as I expected, Wingnut is suitably nutty, Bop and Rock seem even dumber than usual, and I find it hilarious that the entirety of Ray Fillet's dialogue throughout his VERY FIRST ANIMATED APPEARANCE...seems to be repeating his name ad nauseum like a Pokémon. This movie's definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I think I'll have a lot of fun with it.

This movie sounds like the worst possible fanfiction imaginable.

And he ends up being a villain, which is what kept him from appearing in the Fred Wolf cartoon. But Rogen cares not about creator’s intent, I suppose…

So Bebop and Rocksteady aren't humans? No black Bebop?

I am offended and appalled.

Honestly, I don't care. If anything, I just find it strange that it took nearly 40 years before someone ignored the human origin (barring how some Fred Wolf writers and Steve Murphy might have forgotten about it of course). And it's amusing to me that they're seemingly just going to get unceremoniously dropped by the end of this movie, and likely aren't going to be characters in the upcoming show or potential sequels as a result.

I just find it weird since Bebop is black and this is the first time they're actually removing a black character instead of adding one.

This also make IDW Mikey an jerk without empathy. Remember when they heard New York City was going to be a mutant city in the future. Mikey's reaction was "That sounds cool!". He also think Old Hob was a good man. Although he committed terrorism, but who care? he has ice cream!

Mikey is being retard even in IDW? That's funny how even in FW Michaelangelo was more sane and had more common sense (not to mention being funny), than in majority of more "grown up" stuff.

In general, this story sounds like an episode of FW cartoon. Which is bad.

Hmm, wonder what Splinter's beef with April is in the movie? Is he distrustful of humans?

What if they do a crazy twist and make Splinter an antagonist.

They can “Professor X”, or “Mr Glass” Splinter, then the turtles move in with April.

Not likely, but it’d be interesting.

My best guess is that her being so investigative makes him perceive of her as a threat, as what she's doing could put them at risk of being discovered by the outside world.

They could but that's clearly not what's going on here.

Seems they just threw together a bunch of random TMNT characters and plot elements with no real cohesion or reason for me to care about the outcome.

That can't possibly be real, can it? Seriously? There's no way.
