Tmnt comic print runs
Everyone seems to kind of know the print runs for issue 1, (3,000 then 6,000 then 15,000 right?)
But is there somewhere that has numbers for the rest of the books? I went in to a comic shop the other day asked them about volume 3 (I’m only missing a few issues for the run) and they guy at the desk seemed to pull something up on the computer and his comment was basically, woah, the print run on these books is lower than I was expecting. Anyone happen to know what he was looking at, or even know where there is a decently reliable source on what print runs are?

Some info about print runs of early issues were given in Turtlemania Special #1 (1986).

For some reason I thought the Raphael micro was smaller print run, feels like it goes for a lot for being 60k books Edit: just realized my 2 first print is probably the rarest book I own? Not sure if some of the other issues dropped down lower than that ever…

I think the volume 4 $10 cover price issues (#29 - 32) had a print run of 1k copies each, if memory serves.
Also, Laird posted a correction on his blog a number of years ago: the print run on #1, first printing was actually 3,250. |

Missing 29, and 31 but.... Relatedly, after some snooping I found this site that other people seem to refer to. https://www.comichron.com/monthlycom...06Diamond.html This month has first issue of TMNT volume 3 for instance with an index of 39.5. On the side it says each point is approximately 575 books, so.... ~23k books of issue 1? Literally no idea how accurate this site it but... I guess i'll compare it to the last issue of volume 3 which it doesn't even have? Apparently Diamond would only report top 300 books, and book 300 is around 2000 copies. That sounds really low but.... Food for thought I guess? https://www.comichron.com/monthlycom...9/1999-10.html

#31 was printed after #32 so technically that’s the last printed issue.

I’m missing issues 29 and 31 from volume 4, which was just a different statement all together. Either way, I don’t understand this website too much, not sure if anyone else has used it before, just seems Tmnt books are sometimes a bit too under the radar to register here.
