Favorite and Least Favorite TMNT theme song
Simple question What's your favorite tmnt theme song and your least favorite?
Most Favorite is TMNT Back to the Sewer: It's fast pace, I liked the rock in it and it's catchy and I sometime hum it whenever I'm doing something out of blue. Least favorite is the tmnt 2012 theme song- I like the visuals, but I'm not the biggest fan of rap. Maybe if they rapped it a little more faster and the beat itself was in a faster tone. I probably would have liked it more but that's just me. |

Least fav: 2k3 Fast Forward, don’t like the singing part (but the instrumental version is great) |

The classic original would be my fave.
Honorable mention to 2012 that is pretty good and always found the Fast Forward theme to be the most fun in tone. The first 2003 theme is decent, but the counting part always seemed like an odd choice. The Back to the Swears theme is all yours and can have my share of it. I find it too exhausting to watch. Not sure what I like least, that one or the Rise theme. Rise itself has a similar exhaustion factor to it, but with the added bonus of lyrics I hate. |

The original cartoon theme is probably my favorite by default, both for its iconic status and that opening guitar riff. It's just as good as an instrumental as it is with lyrics, perhaps better.
The downside is, it made the phrase "Heroes in a Half-Shell" a thing, which I absolutely loathe. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Of the ones I remember well or am most familiar with, I never much liked the Next Mutation theme, with that "Na-na-na-na NIN-ja!" stuff. Blech. I honestly don't remember anything about the "Rise" them. If I did that might be my "worst". Since everything about that show makes my personal "worst" list. But I really don't remember the song so I can't say that for sure until I hear it again. And I'm not in any rush.

Favorite is probably 1987's, purely out of nostalgia.
Least favorite is the DVD replacement theme for Next Mutation. The original theme was pretty good, the modern one they switched it out with for some ungodly reason is absolute trash.

I don't know the original Next Mutation song but the one I heard on Neflix when I gave the series a look wasn't great so I might go with that as least.
Fav is 2012s. |

I know I'm in the minority, but I love the red sky era version from the original cartoon. I liked it more than the original version featured in seasons 1-7. I also love the 4Kids series theme (both the version from seasons 1-3 and the later version from seasons 4-5), and the Fast Forward theme as well.

The worst for me is Back to the Sewers. Between the art style, the vocals, and (to me), the "extreme" instrumentation, it's a sore. Decent fighting in the intro, but frustrating to listen/watch at points.
As for a favorite? A closeup between Red Sky (though I question using the live-action movies in it) and the "We shredded Shredder!" variant of 2k3. I like the hard rock better here for both. 2012 is also a third place runner-up out of nostalgia.

With no doubt the 2003 original version (the italian one is eeehh).
Gotta admit that the 2012 version is awesome too!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the opening theme to Tales of the TMNT, the last season of the 2012 series. It's my favorite. I love the Cowboy Bebop homage in that.
The worst one is probably the Next Mutation theme. Honestly, anything associated with that brings back PTSD memories. |

This was one of the alternate theme songs they were going to use for Back to the Sewers, which I would have preferred way more than that crappy one they went with.

I dislike all TMNT theme songs. The one I can tolerate the most is the 1980s theme song: the synthwave start and energetic retrowave throughout the song stirs nostalgic feelings. I feel like the Stranger Things and Game of Thrones have the best intro theme songs because lyrics if not done right can be corny and reduce the replay value, perhaps TMNT should learn a few things from them.

Rise theme is pretty good. I always liked it.
My favorite is probably the original. 2012/Rise are just variations of it. Least favorite is Fast Forward. It’s so corny to me. I don’t usually mind corniness but it’s like purposely trying to be “hip”. That’s the problem with it. Movie’s Turtle Power is good too.

Ya it has a good beat and I like how it ends saying Rise. The lyrics are nice too. It could have fit with any TMNT show.

I would like to add that I have a love for anything with synth... so, if I had to choose one, I prefer the 80's intro... But my favorite TMNT music comes out of the 1990 movie.
Shredder's Suite is the best... tho, the whole soundtrack is awesome, except for the parts with the film's dialogue. |

I'm right there with you. This is pretty epic and as themes go is pretty good:
Of the TV shows, the original theme is the best, on pure nostalgia. Worst? Probably like Powder said the re-release Next Mutation theme. Or Back to the Sewers.

I thought that sounded like Eric Stuart. It's fun when fandoms crossover. That's what happens when they're both under 4Kids I guess.
