So, it is what I thought.
Good. I would have been really pissed. I was hyped too...then saw a full scene.

Robbie is beautiful, but a **** actress.

Because some things just aren't worth the trouble, even if full price has been paid.
Sometimes you'll purchase a crappy product, and will just suck it up and accept the lost funds. Especially if you're left feeling more disappointed than angry.
I almost felt like leaving Age of Ultron early, for example, but stayed out of courtesy to my cousins (who were with me).

I would have left Spidey 3 early if I weren't with people. Same goes for The Purge. Now You See Me. TMNT: OOTS. Several more.

The only movie I considered to doing so was White House Down. Oh, the ridiculous plot and inaccuracies. Laughable to horrid. You listed some good films aside from The Purge. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I actually enjoy Spider-Man 3. It's just so zany.
The sad thing is that I think the best performances in that film are from Aunt May and Harry's Butler.

When I was a kid, my mom made us walk out on the first live action Scooby-Doo movie (it was when Scooby and Shaggy had the farting contest).

She also managed to sleep through most of Batman Begins.

That movie was weird. Its audience was kids but it featured Scrappy pissing on Daphne (marking his territory), and Fred body-switching with her and checking out her tits. And the ghost at the beginning of the film was grabbing her ass too, if I remember right.
My point is, even if you hadn't been forced to leave at the farting contest, you wouldn't have been there much longer.

Movie tickets are expensive these days, especially if you go with someone or buy snacks. Even if I was bored by a movie, and there have been a few, there's no reason you can't just sit there for another hour rather than just getting up and leaving.

I mean you can sit there and relax too for that matter.

You know how people clap at the end of a movie, even though they're applauding a screen? When you leave a film, it's like you're spiting it. Same basic principle.

Its still a waste of money. Just sit in your chair and relax. Watching a movie is passive, just slouch down.

I mean I sat through all of Pacific Rim and that movie bored me most of the time, but I never felt the need to get up and leave.

I'm with Cubed. Why leave a movie you paid for? Atleast finish the damn thing so you can say you saw it.

I have never seen this. I've lived in 2 states, seen movies in maybe even 3-4, both north & south, not once has an attendee clapped. I see people post about that from time to time, so I guess it's a thing. Weird as hell.

It is a thing. Happens all the time down in my area.

Yeah, I don't get it. Do these people clap at their TVs at home?

I imagine only old people do that because they're more used to watching live shows in the old days. Live theater was quite popular dating from the 50's to the early 90's.

So old folks who remember being young teenage youths during that era probably have it ingrained in their minds.

Is it really that bothersome? The movie's over at that point. I've seen it happen a bunch of times.

It doesn't bother me, but it certainly puzzles me. I geek out over **** as much of the next guy, but why clap? It's not a stage production... it's not the premier where the cast/crew is in attendance...
