Gotta admit that I'm a little disappointed I couldn't score the Santolouco Cover A for this issue, since I just thought it was the perfect hook for this story. I can't complain too much about getting Kevin Eastman's version, but it looks like my shop had considerably more copies of Cover B and Cover A this time around. That's happened on a few other issues as well, like with #5. I
used to think Cover Bs would be a somewhat more limited printing than Cover As; anybody want to enlighten me on how the print runs work?

In regard to covers, I'm glad my local shop pulls all new TMNT for me; they sold out of the issue but I was able to get three covers.

Not as amped from the first issue as I thought I'd be, but there's definitely some interesting stuff being set up. I have high hopes for the next issue. The art is fan-freakin-tastic, though.
Curious, was anyones pull of this issue the Eastman variant as opposed to the usual A cover? I see Oldmanwinters touching on that above, I'm curious if they fudged up the printing somehow and made more than they shoulda or something.

My shop does seem to have a lot of B covers, like I said earlier though, they pulled all three covers they got in for me and sold out all of their "general public" stock so it's hard to tell with this issue. If it's really a 4:1 ratio though, it could just be that many shops are just getting a lot of copies.

I'm definitely happy to have it, it's a great cover and I didn't have to pay the usual mark up. I'm just bummed I wasn't able to get the Santolouco cover as it definitely defines the series & sets the tone right off the bat. Eventually I'll nab one. Just a curious thing...

Awesome issue!
On the covers - I get a B in my box and my store had an A on the shelf, so it seems like they got an even split (depending on which covers they'd put away for other people). |

Shouldn't this thread either be renamed 'TMNT #22 discussion' or merged with the city fall discussion thread? Some of you are talking about the cover situation but there are also others who are leaving their opinions on the issue here (like myself a while back)

IDW TMNT #22 Discussion Thread
I didn't readily see an active thread aside from the "CityFall Arc" thread, so while I have stickied it for the entirety of the arc, feel free to discuss the individual issues as well.

It was already kind of being discussed in this thread:
http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=42916 Maybe those can be moved over here? Last edited by Martin; 06-03-2013 at 08:28 PM. |

Just got it (along with Baxter Stockman) today.
Is it me or did the artwork look better and a little more detailed in The Secret History of the Foot? Still great artwork, I mean that, best the series has had (aside from Eastman of course). The story was fast paced and I didn't expect the ass whooping to happen so fast. I like seeing Kitsune make a powerful roll, so far Shredder's main allies in the foot are female (Karai, Kitsune, Aloplex). Without giving away too much what they did to Casey was brutal! and I for one am ready to see Shredder and the Foot beat the snot out of those Savate fairies. I was surprised to see Splinter go along with them on this mission, I noticed how recently he's been going out on their missions more instead of watching soaps. |
