Julie Strain R.I.P.

Looks like it is for real this time. It is confirmed on her FB by her caregiver.

RIP to Kevin Eastman's former spouse, athletic bodybuilding actress/stuntwoman, and Annihilator 2000 firing girl from Beverly Hills Cop 3.

Second re-retracted celebrity passing story this year already, first Tanya Roberts, now her.

Turns out the poor woman had suffered brain damage from a horse riding accident back in her 20s, which resulted in dementia. I was never aware of that, but I am all too familiar of dementia, as it seems to run in my family.

The first time I've ever heard about Kevin Eastman was in a review of the PC videogame Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K. 2 inside an Italian videogame magazine from 2000. The character of the game was based on Julie and a photo of her in very skympy clothes was on one of the pages. A little box with information about Eastman was also present along with a little photo of him with the mustache. That was the exact moment I discovered about the existence of the Mirage comics wich I would have been able to read only years later. My first thought was: "Oh, so this is the creator of the Turtles I used to play when I was a kid. And a comics-guy like him managed to marry a girl like THAT? Wow!"

RIP Julie.

That's tragic.

May Julie rest in peace.
