Mainly due to his obscurity. Also, I feel some of the Space filler is better than the Northampton filler. |

Loved this episode! Greg Cipes used his Beast Boy voice @ one point. And Mikey did a rap, despite the others thought it was annoying.
Wish Mikey had played an instrument.

You know there is more to Michelangelo than "The goofy one" ugh how do you people like him? He's annoying in the entirely other way.

Because he's adorable, cute, funny, sensitive, badass (when he needs to be), love his fighting skills and I love his relationship with his brothers, Splinter, Leatherhead, ICK ect.

I think having Cipes being a the voice of 6 year old Mikey was meant to associate him with present day Mikey even though he is mentally, emotionally, and physically in the body of a child. Perhaps when they show the Turtle Tots for real they can hire on kids to voice the Turtle Tots and Turtle Tweens. |

Even though... I did sorta enjoy this episode. Yeah it was more misrepresentation of Mikey, but it wasn't... as bad as some others. Any confusion from the writers as to who his character is kinda takes a back seat to the admittedly funny story. My favorite of the season so far... but that's not saying much. But... yeah... they really need to get the ball rolling with Mikey. It's starting to get embarrassing (while you're at it, get the ball rolling with... literally every character other than Leo, Donnie, and Splinter).

To build off what you said Aaron, I went onto to Turtlepedia recently and was talking in a thread with one of the main editors who was showing evidence of Michelangelo being more than simply goofy. Besides, I know for a fact he's more than that: Mikey can be creative or filled with imagination, he's serious with a laidback attitude, he's emotional (LH, IDW, and others have proven it), and so on and so forth.
It's my gripe with Mikey in general, a majority of the time he's written as comic relief; although he's like that, there's more to the character than that. It's like Donnie being more than the brains, Raphael being aggressive, or Leonardo being selfless. Sure, these are the traits we identify with the characters a majority of the time, but it feels that the writers play way too safe and going into the typical cliche of using these one dimensional traits. It frustrates me, especially with Nick when we've gotten episodes to prove Mikey is more than that, like Attack of the Mega Shredder, Into Dimension X!, etc. I honestly wish though these fragments of Mikey got more screentime to play with, especially you could use the previous adventures or new memories to show why Mikey acts who he is. In addition, use Mikey's imagniation to defeat these Brain Busters (I'm not calling them Neutrinos, they are extremely generic looking). Honestly, if that were done I'd say it's a solid gem in the space arc; instead, it just acts as primarily filler and somewhat fanservice based. While far from the worst episode I've seen him in the spotlight in, the goof trend needs to stop being prominent. I don't care if it's writers, the fact they fall back on that trope disgusts me of not being able to write a good Michelangelo episode again. Come on guys, at least do something other than the standard. Last edited by GoldMutant; 01-17-2016 at 03:40 PM. |

Mikey was fine in this episode, he wasn't acting goofy (ok he had the lets annoy Raph moment but that's what Mikey does anyway), dumb, he didn't make any mistakes, he got serious when he needed to be, there was nothing wrong with him at all. It was just that the episode was a light hearted one.
Before this episode aired I thought that Mikey seemed more serious than funny this season as he hadn't made any mistakes and was taking things more seriously but still having the odd funny moment. He just seemed more toned down. When I watched this episode today and seeing his personalities especially his angry/serious side and his funny/annoying side. I thought that his angry side would be a lot smaller and his funny side would be a lot bigger but they weren't, they were the other way round. This has made think that, Mikey seeing Splinters death has affected him and it seems he wants to focus on beating The Triceratons and saving earth and more importantly save Splinter.

I Think You Mean When The Writers Want Him To Be "Badass" and Even That Is Played as a joke. He's Basically Written As Brain Dead moron Half the Time To Entertain Kids. Which I Question That Since Most Kids I Know Find It Surprising When I Tell Them Mikey Isn't A dumb joke Character Like The Last Two Cartoons Make Him Out To Be. P.S. its A problem When a kid ask why do the Turtles need Mikey.

I enjoyed this episode. I realize it makes budget sense for Nick to recycle character models in multiple episodes, but I think it was used to great effect in this episode. Really cool to see the LARP costumes, the Mutanimals, Tigerclaw, Dave Beaver, and Renet (SO BIG) all have a prominent place in Mikey's imagination. Plus, the "death" of Chris Bradford at the hands of the Neutrinos... wow.

This episode was a bummer. I liked seeing little Mikey, but that was about it. Why do they continually keep insisting on making the characters have the exact same traits again and again? There is so much more to Mikey, and Raph, for that matter, but they are wasted. Such a waste of potential that it makes me sad.
Mikey was pretty cool when he was immune to Belly Bomb and went to stop him. He even named him casually as well. Interesting to see that Renet was the biggest thing in his mind. Hmmmmmm |

The ONE thing that really pleased my eyes this episode was seeing Leo,Raph and Donnie ride Pigeon Pete, Leatherhead and Tiger Claw. Just so much yes. XD
And big Renet was nice to see as well.

Just now watching it on the DVR, the guy Fugitoid knows who attempted to extort them is Bellybomb? He has the Neutrinos who are bad guys working for him? Missed opportunity of having a good guy in Dimension X.
