UK Panini Comics TPB (September 2014)
Looks like the TMNT comics from the monthly UK Panini magazine are going to be collected in a TPB next month.
Some websites call it "The Need for Speed" and others "Vol. 1 Surface Time". Quote:

Now I can finally know what comics were in issue 12! (also, that's a lot of comics for one volume; a good deal)

Man is there any chance of IDW publishing this in the U.S.? I really don't understand why there are UK only comics.

The reverse simply applies to the US market. I'm sure it will be available somehow via unofficial channels. |

Can't they work out a deal? I mean all the licensing goes back to Nickelodeon itself.
Its bizarre to see two different series of comics based on the Nick cartoon that look almost practically identical and are written almost the same way but are published by two different companies. I don't think I've ever heard of this before. |

I've certainly seen this before but that's what happens from time to time when you live outside the US, which is where most of the merchandising is produced.
Any money made would likely go straight to Panini - they would need to pay a hefty licencing fee to Nick for he rights to distribute in the US. Plus IDW will almost certainly have an exclusive contract to distribute comics in the US as Panini selling a rival comic could damage IDWs sales. It's annoying and if handled carefully could be done in such a way as to get the product into the hands of hardcore fans without harming mainstream sales. But I suspect writing watertight contracts to please all parties would be just too complicated. |

Anyone in the US should be able to order the book from Amazon UK and have it delivered anyhow, so it's a small moot point. Just obviously, higher shipping charges.

How much is shipping from UK for a book like this anyway? I'm not paying more money shipping than the book itself.

According to the page below, the delivery cost will be 6.98 UK pounds. Cost of the book is 10.75 UK pounds. If you order extra books add an additional 2.99 per book.

Alternatively order from Book Depository who apparently have free worldwide delivery. You can get the price in your local currency using the drop down in the top right.

According to the solicit, they're the comics published in Panini's TMNT Magazine #1-12. They're original comics unique from the IDW TMNT New Animated Adventures stuff, and though they're short form, they're pretty good comedy relief pieces with great artwork and coloring.
Here's a guide |

Sonic the Hedgehog has both a UK comic and a US comic and the UK comic has never seen the light of day over here. So while it's rare this kind of thing happens, it's happened. But over in Japan they have MLP manga, but the IDW MLP series has started to get released over there. So you never know.
