It makes me think of The Force Awakens and a fan goes only to see Luke Skywalker. Go to the film and a thirty second non-speaking cameo and that is it. I don't want to go to the movie for Hal Jordan alone and that happen. We will see how this pans out. Hal and John as buddy cops in space? I love the idea. Hal is first and foremost Green Lantern, but seeing John interact with him makes it even better!

Might watch if it's not part of the crappy DCCU.

Supposedly Tom Cruise is the front runner for Hal Jordan

I've heard rumors that they want Kristen Stewart for Star Sapphire, but I personally think that one's a long shot...

By now there should have been MOS 2, Wonder Woman in a modern day flick and GL maybe launching off the back of what could have been a Justice League 2. |

At this point, even JJ Abrams would be a step up for the DCEU. If I were a WB/DC executive, I'd bring in screenwriters and directors I trusted, and lay out the Big 7 for each team. Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and an open slot. Pitch for the seventh; convince me who it should be. Black Canary? Zatanna? Martian Manhunter? Vixen? Cyborg? For each hero, lay out a concise plan for an overall series, but pitch the first two entries as standalone (i.e., the way Nolan did... give it all you have, hold nothing back, and don't count on another film after to wrap up loose ends or plot holes). And loosely figure out a pair of Justice League movies working together. (And when the time comes, pick one or two of those people to actually craft the JL crossovers.) Do these people running each movie even KNOW each other? Work together, build a universe. For fvck's sake.

Warner Bros. has been a clusterf*ck of bad decisions and mismanagement since before most of us were even born. Anything good they have ever done was a complete accident; if you study the making of films like I do, it's truly depressing how many "great" movies from WB were total trash until someone whipped up a miracle in the editing room.
They've always been motivated by fear rather than creativity. All they know how to do is copy the success of others, and (over)react to whatever the popular consensus is at any given moment. I mean, for f*ck's sake, nostalgia is "In" so they're doing a Space Jam sequel, an idea that's been a punchline for two decades. "You KNOW they'll be out of ideas if they ever get THAT off the ground, LOL". And here we are. It's a joke. WB is like the annoying less-cool friend who tags along to a party and makes a nuisance of himself by trying way too hard to get attention and make people like them. Always been that way, never gonna change. I enjoy a lot of their stuff but as a company they're a f*cking joke.

Basically Geoff is still working on his draft (working hard at it, 24/7!) and will turn it in by the end of next month. Eh, what? We're really to believe he's been sitting there for years at his keyboard, waiting to hit "send" on draft 1?

Green Lantern as a character has always been a hard sell for me. If anything can change that, it will probably be Grant Morrison's Green Lantern run, currently in progress, which I've yet to read. Looking forward to it though.

I'm a huge Morrison fan but... I don't know if I can recommend his GL run. It began strong but very quickly became "weird for the sake of weird" and hasn't really come back from that since.

His draft will probably be quietly hijacked by a real writer that JJ likes, and in the end Geoff will get a soft co-writing credit.
