I'd like to see some reviews of this Mutagen Canister before I go ahead and let my pre-order ship...

Anyone find any yet?

While I don't have my hands on the NECA replica, I do have an original aluminum production TCRI canister prop from 1. Overall, NECA's effort is a pretty decent mass market replication. The end caps were a bit thicker on the originals, so the "depth" of the rounded slots look a bit off. The slots seem a bit narrow, as well. Without having the replica in hand, it's hard to really get detailed comparing dimensions.

NECA did a pretty decent job on the graphics, pulling reference from what I guess is Ninjarap Mike's Eastman canister and caps from the cracked prop with caution stripes seen in the film. I haven't compared fonts closely. The 1/4 scale canister was pretty close, but not spot on.

The only other critique I can think of, and this goes with most canister replicas-- it's just too clean. The originals were very messy and haphazard in construction, even with wonky graphic applications. I can see why NECA went with the cleaner, more idealized approach, though.

NECA was REALLY close to nailing it. Much like with the 1/4 figures, a few emails swapped with fan collectors could've easily solved a few lingering issues.

All in all, super cool looking prop replica! Especially for the cost. I LOVE the glowing ooze crack feature. I would be cool to add some custom LED rigs inside to make the mutagen pulse and glow randomly.

Thanks for the surface detail analysis. Good to know that it's about as accurate as one would expect! Too bad they don't seem to have nailed it perfectly but it does seem close enough for me. I haven't watched the '90 film in awhile, so I have to rely on Google for now to show me stills from the movie. But there seems to be only one, the one side view with the crack and the ooze puddle and the baby turtles walking in it. Did it make any other appearances in the film from any other angles? If so, why can I find no movie stills besides that single one online?

I would like to see in-hand reviews as well because I am also interested in the light effects and the so-called "ooze" that is included.

Looks like some are arriving already. Someone on Instagram was posting pictures of their mutagen canister two days ago.

Big Bad Toy Store sent me an E-Mail that the Mutagen Canister will be in stock soon. I pre-ordered it together with Raph in disguise, so will have to wait a little longer before it gets shipped.

IDK how long this has been going on, but if anyone still doesn't have Mikey, he is $87.19 over at TrU's eBay page.

Not trying to undermine you finding & sharing a nice deal, but fair warning to anyone who wants to keep theirs on card- that seller's (Toys R US) probably not for you. Their online shipping situation is notorious for poorly packaging stuff to such an extent that toy boxes get totally wrecked in transit, & in the event you complain & receive a replacement, it's the same deal. Then again, the ebay feedback specific to that item is pretty good. So your experience may vary.

I have a Mikey left on my website for 119 FREE SHIPPING (US). If you use the dromer discount you get another 5% and I have quality boxes and pack things well. Basically I dont have destroyed stuff like TRU

NECA ships direct if you ordered from them same time as they ship out to retailers, which is why you see some in the wild.

We get our NECA stuff at the same time as BBTS, but we are smaller and process stuff though and ship faster.

All of this is unique to how NECA does business.

Thanks! That's what I wanted to see! Hmm, the ooze didn't look too fluid...kinda like jello...held its form inside the cup and just jiggled away from the sides. That seems not good, so, I guess don't buy it just for the ooze! Good thing you can get the good stuff at the dollar store. But maybe it's firmer on purpose to enable it to be more stable for photos or display although it would prob dry out if displayed too long. I did notice in the pics we had before now that the pile of ooze either looked like it was actually cotton or something, or maybe was just having an air-whipped look due to having to be sculpted up out of this gelatinous stuff.

Canisters arrived today and I managed to get them all to the post office today as well. Many of you that ordered from me will have them in 2-3 days.

International customers? I fixed the issue that makes your shipping costs suck and you should get decent rates now.

I still have 4 left...

Dont forget to use "technodrome" at checkout for the 'Dromer discount!

NECA put new images of Raph in box on their Facebook. You can clearly see two sais if anyone is curious.
