Ya. If they wanna go in a different direction it's better they give it its own show instead of changing the tone of the current show like they did with Fast Forward.

FF barely changed the tone aside from some catch phrases and some slightly more humor.

I, like many here, am NOT a fan of Teen Titans GO!. There are some fun moments to be had, but the show is basically sketch comedy, portioned into half episodes to keep small attention spans occupied. Its literally a shell of its former self.

I have no problem with them taking a more 'mystical' turn, as ninja-lore is often associated with japanese mythology, but if this is fitting to become ninjas with superpowers (a la Naruto) just so they can sling spells instead of having actual fight sequences, that would bum me out too.

I would like, however, Donatello's personality to return to that of the OT or 2k3 series. His personality for the CG Nick run has been a big turn off to me. Not the Donnie I remember growing up. But to each his own.

TV shows aren't your little fanfiction. One person can't run a show direction/writing wise all by himself.

I give my interests of what will get me more involved with shows in general:
1) Thoughtful writing (I'm all for that),
2) Diversity (shows-aimed-at-boys would not have gotten me to watch more of the show as a preteen/teen if they didn't have females be involved in equal opportunity, if it's about action and fighting then it is nice to have females be such too something of it being usual and not very surprising),
3) Awesome music assistance (I thought that creators don't have to do it but it actually works on me),
4) Detailed action scene (when you understand how they fight and it makes sense and the moves are memorable, incredible).

April can be a good investigator of crimes. That's new. Footprints leading to somewhere, the trails on the body if the harm was done before damaging body or after.

From the sound of the new show, like how it'll have more mystical content but not that crazy about how it's gonna be even younger and more light hearted..... All I can say on the new show is please don't screw it up! The last thing this franchise needs is to be taken even less seriously. I mean really, the series started out as comics - which was meant to be dark and yet people keeping slapping the "it's a kids show" label on it. As long as people keep saying it's a kids show and slapping that label on it, sadly I don't see a adult focused show coming out.... despite how much I want that to happen

I did look through the IMDBs and had a sinking feeling.
Ant Ward has only produced one other show besides TMNT - that being The Penguins of Madagascar.
As for Andy Suriano, he has only produced one show at all:
Plastic Man. With a whopping six episodes to it. He was also a writer for it.

And with that show clearly not going well...

Penguins of Madagascar was decent enough, I've heard, but I don't know how much that can bring us.

Teen Titans Go is hit or miss, imo. It doesn’t appeal to me, but I have seen some eps or parts where I did find something funny about it. One that comes to mind is that ep I saw about Robin needing to get his driver’s license reinstated. He lost it because he crashed the Batmobile. He was getting everyone to drive him around for trivial things, until they confronted Robin over what the deal was. Robin found a driving instructor who was actually a bank robber. Robin didn’t realize that he wasn’t getting tested and stuff, only that he was acting as the get away driver. At the end, when he finally gave him his license, it turned out Robin knew what was going on the entire time and went into hero mode. I literally cracked up at that…but that was because of the irony of the entire situation and I like ironic humor (hence my liking of Sonic Boom). Overall, though, TTG isn’t something I would seek out to watch. All of the characters, for the most part, come across as a tad bit annoying, especially Cyborg.

Now as for this upcoming 2018 show…I really hope that it isn’t like TTG or an attempted TTG clone. Even though the original FW series was goofy and a bit slapsticky when it came to the fighting, the Turtles themselves weren’t idiotic and stuff. No matter who they fought against, they took it seriously. If the 2018 series follows the TTG format, and to add insult to injury, gave them the personalities of the TF FW Turtles, I don’t think I’d be able to get into it. ^^

Hm, but the fact there are Samurai Jack folks involved (even though I’ve never watched that show), I don’t think we’ll have anything to worry about. ^_^
