I wouldn't hate an actual better figure for $30 but these are just the paintjobs they showed off in promotional images as what's supposed to be showing up in stores for $10, but in a nifty box.

I'm not mad but I'm also not interested.

I'm not mad either, but I'm definitely bummed. My feelings towards the new show right now are less than optimistic at best, but I've been really excited for the new toys. The Rise Turtles designs just make cool figures in my opinion.

BUT...

$30 is too high. As everyone has already pointed out, these should be much cheaper. I'd be totally comfortable buying these in a single box set for $75. I like the designs. I like that they're painted accurately to the show (although I feel like the retail versions should be too). I like the painted weapons. I feel like individually boxing them and charging $30 a piece is Playmates thinking they nailed it last year with the Usagi exclusive (which they did a good job with) and now they can do that with anything. These should be $15-$20 (TOPS) individually or they should've been in a box set for $60-$75.

A box set would've been a much better move, yeah.

As a fan of TMNT I want to love these. As well as the new show. But Playmates is not making it easy this time around. Although my biggest concern is with the packaging more so than the figure itself. So that’s a good thing.

I'm not saying the packaging alone is worth the ridiculous price point, but to be fair, it's more than just a black box.

As I see it, anyone buying these is giving Playmates the go ahead to halfass a “collectible” and overcharge them.

These sell, they’ll do it again. F that.

I too would have preferred a box set, but the four together create stackable options for display.
I can see me stacking them 2x2 which will give a sort of box set appearance.

It would have been nice to have original SDCC themed art. Maybe the convention center with the Turtles in attendance.

Instead of just the stock show image we have seen a thousand times already. It is nice how Leo’s name is displayed.

Really for $30 you should be getting much more paint work added to each turtle. There should be paint added under the arms, (between the shell and chest), Mikey's spots need the orange ring around them, colours on the shells. It's not much missing, but you really are over paying for these.

They already tried the same thing last year at SDCC with their Usagi exclusive even though it was barely changed from the general release. As far as I'm concerned, Playmates already feels like they have permission to try that again.

At least SDCC Usagi came with 2 extra heads, flag, Spot and a comic.

Yeah, Usagi was worth it, but the Rise figures don't even have anything new to justify the price (besides packaging).

They say it's better paint.
It's usually the exact same figure but a bit more paint applications. I would say it's a $20 value exclusive.
$30. Asking a bit too much for paint job. These are existing mass retail molds.

OMG , someone actually put these for sale on ebay for a $150 buckaroos EACH, not for all 4, but EACH! If people wait for SDCC I am sure you will get some decent sellers that will ask a fair price for all 4 collectively .

I'm sure someone is... eccentric enough to buy them for that price too. The '12 toy fair figures went for some ridiculous prices when they where hottest

If anyone is foolish enough to buy one at that price, then they didn't deserve the money in the first place

Wow, that is INSANE! Sure, I want a Leo, but I would never ever pay that price for these! I'd much rather buy a regular one once they are released and paint it myself with "better paint."
