Video Gaming on the Youtube
With no doubt, the Youtube has contrinbuted to making video gaming even more popular (especially watching but also growing an interest for playing). It has also allowed younger children to check out some older consoles, like Atari VCS, NES or Sega master System.
While the Technodrome community already has an Angry Video Game Nerd thread, I decided to expand this topic. I'm now a huge fan of video gaming on the Youtube. I don't care for the Angry Video Game Nerd when he's just supposed to be angry and throws the controller into the wall. But I like watching and listening when he is himself and talks about video game memories or plays video games with Michael Matei. I also like Gaming Historian https://www.youtube.com/user/mcfrosticles/videos So, I dedicate this thread for everyone who wants to share or talk about video gaming on the Youtube. It can be let's play, playthroughs, memoeries or history. Anything you like. Last edited by Original TMNT Cartoon Fan; 06-17-2020 at 04:10 PM. |

F*ck Mike Matei. I can't stand that guy.
I'm a big fan of the Gaming Historian. I wish he had more videos and that they came out more frequently, but I know he puts a lot of work into everything he does so it's fine, selfishly I just wish I had more to look at. I also got super into Sega Lord X, recently. I grew up only playing Sega stuff at friends' houses, and I find his series to be incredibly informative. I've watched tons of his videos covering all the Sega consoles and arcade stuff, and have a much greater appreciation for the brand than I ever did before, to the point where I might pick up a Master System soon. I don't watch anywhere near as much of them, but I also check out Wrestling With Gaming and the Larry Bundy/Fact Hunt stuff sometimes. I used to check out Joe Gagne's Funtime Pro Wrestling Arcade but it seems like he more or less abandoned his channel. He had all the flash and sizzle of a popsicle stick but he covered a lot of obscure wrestling games, so I kinda miss that one. The Wrestling Bios channel also has a few wrestling game reviews as well, and like everything else on that channel they're top-notch.

Game Grumps that's all you need. Watching Danny and Arin play games while making hilarious jokes and what not is awesome. Certain games they play bring out the best stuff like Zelda and Sonic and Mario.

Did you mean to say the YouTube community? Thats what I thought it.
Anyway besides AVGN I subscribe to Gamester81. He lives in AZ too. Seems like a really nice guy and reviews various systems. He made a game too. An official one. I think he was in the process of getting it physically released on Switch. Also Badnik Mechanic. All Sonic channel. He covers non-mainstream stuff besides the games. Pete Dorr. He shows many things and also really into Sonic. I watch others too depending on the video. Of course many people cover the same things so it just depends who you got into first I guess and whether or not you like them. Im really backed up on a lot of YouTube videos though. Games and non-games.

I personally enjoy SomeCallMeJohnny, Game Grumps, the Great Clement, and DashieGames.
Sadly, I WAS a big fan of Retro Replay, which was the duo of Troy Baker (Joel from The Last of Us) and Nolan North (Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series). Unfortunately, Troy left a couple months ago, and the atmosphere hasn't been the same since. I still recommend you check out their earlier videos for some good laughs and hijinxs. Plus, their theme song is so badass.

I enjoy a Swedish series, recorded some years ago, where a father and a son play NES games together. It is called
Back to the Era of the NES https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCon...bR-VQ7A/videos Are there any similair Youtube series in English? Where a parent and child play video games from the parent's childhood. |

I like watching the AVGN and I also enjoy watching let?s plays, they help me learn how to play games. I see several people mentioned Game Grumps, I like them too. I also like TheRunawayGuys, WiiLikeToPlay and many more.
The channel that?s really entertaining to me is one called Versus. It has one player, AttackingTucans race video games with other players, he also has some of these on his own solo channel. I remember at one point, the racers mentioned they wanted viewers to race along with them in some of the games and I like to do that, not by posting YouTube videos but by doing it offline and keeping score on paper. It?s entertaining. |

Glad I could be of service!
...Wait... I helped someone instead of ruining something? That can't be right...
