Watched Vampyr recently and it was amazing. The story was somewhat confusing, but I think the stunning visuals made up for it.

Watched The Razor: The Snare yesterday and it was a nice sequel to The Razor: Sword of Justice. I just thought it didn't rely as much on some of the elements from the first movie, though.

Later on, I watched Pretty Dead Girl: A Musical, which was a quaint short film. I can tell the cast and crew had fun putting it together.

Went to a free advanced screening of Danny Boyle's new film Slumdog Millionaire last night. It was by far Danny Boyle's best film and without a doubt the best film I've seen all year. I can't even imagine any other movie even coming close to this for the rest of the year. I strongly encourage everyone to check it out when it hits theaters around you.


This morning I screened Quantum of Solace at work and I was severely disappointed with it. Such a let down after Casino Royale. It was action packed but extremely boring, if that makes any sense.

I get what you mean, I felt the same way. Directors really need to realise random car chases and explosions are not exciting at all without an interesting human element, which the movie sorely lacked.

Watched a couple movies recently, starting with The Dead Zone and it was a nice multi-genre flick from Cronenberg. I thought Christoper Walken's performance stole the show.

Also watched May, which I've seen before and it's starting to grow on me. The movie's just so messed up and I love it.

Watched Freedom Writers in school and it was really good. I imagine it inspired me and my fellow classmates.

Another movie I watched in school was Into the Wild and it was kinda sad, but I think most people enjoyed it. The fact that it featured actors I'm familiar with kept me intrigued.

Watching a movie called Mister Lonely about a Michael Jackson impersonator...in France....yeah I'm only 10 and a half minutes in and I'm already ready to give up on it...Right now he's preforming in a nursing home...oh look Marylin Munroe...and she's married to Charlie Chaplin (he used to be Buster Keaton) and they have a daughter who is Shirley Temple...

Quantum of Solace

Not as good as Casino Royale, but I was still entertained for the most part.

Watched the Boris Karloff movie Bedlam yesterday and it was quite good. The horror atmosphere it offered was neat too.

After that, I watched Mark of the Vampire and it had a nice supernatural aspect to it. For being only in hour in length, it wasn't short of enjoyment.

Later on, I watched La Jetée, which was quite trippy for a short film. In ways, I was able to see how it inspired Twelve Monkeys.

I watched Fist of Legend on TV last night, which was pretty awesome in spite of the cheesy dubbing.

I went to go see Role Models which was funny as hell. "Whispering Eye"...lolz.

Then I saw Gone Baby Gone on DVD. Man, so f*cked up and yet so good. Really makes one think about what one would do in a situation like the what they present in the movie.

Watched the 1988 version of The Blob recently and it wasn't half bad. I'm just glad there were cheesy moments as well scary ones.

And yesterday, I watched The Razor: Who's Got the Gold?, which was decent for the final entry in the Hanzo the Razor movie trilogy. It didn't seem to have the appeal of the first two, though.

Just watched King of New York.

I just wanted to see Walken shoot David Caruso in the face with a double-barrel shotgun. That scene still warms the cockles of my heart.

Finally saw Dark Knight last night. Awesome movie. I much prefer Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel over Katie Holmes. They are so similar in approach to the character, yet Maggie is infinitely more likeable than Katie. One of life's mysteries, no doubt.

Watched The Beast with Five Fingers last night, which was a fun horror classic featuring Peter Lorre. The movie's atomsphere kept me engaged as well.

After that, I watched the 1960 version of Village of the Damned and it was quite good. I'd say it's right up there with the best sci-fi/horror films.

Role Models

Absolutely hilarious. Really heart warming, too.

This year has been great for comedies. Like, better than usual. Harold and Kumar 2, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and now Role Models. There's probably a few I'm forgetting, too.

I saw Guy Ritchie's Revolver and thought it was pretty lame. I don't know what the hell he was trying to do with this one. Becoming a new David Lynch perhaps? I just don't know...

Hahahahaha. I basically took it as Guy Ritchie trying to be pretentious as hell and make an "artsy" film and failing miserably. I still don't really get it.
