Been kinda MIA for a while, but I have new WIP pics to share...

Probably going to give them black washes and a little drybrushing, paint the eyes (and fully pop the heads back on and reattach the severed limbs on the grey one), and call them finito. Bonus points if you can guess the inspiration of the second one (hint: I'm painting his eyes black).

Yep, they're Spectacular Spider-Man figures -- the grey one's pretty much a redo of my previous Foot Ninja, only this one uses a the v2 Black Spidey with the more articulated body as a base.

No... I was going to say maybe this new WIP pic will help, but the flash makes it look way brighter than it actually is... so maybe not.

Anyway, I'm pretty much done with this sucker -- just need to seal the paint and he'll be ready to join Shredder on the shelf. The other ninja's paint is nearly complete as well, but he'll require a bit more work before he's ready to take on the Turtles.

Of course, I noticed that they're wearing skirts or something when I pulled the screencaps up for a color reference, but I never noticed that when I was a kid! And since they don't have skirts in the PC version of TMNT1 (which is probably why I don't remember them being there), I figured I'd just call this a nostalgic amalgam of sorts.

Here's the Foot Ninja next to its unpainted spider-powered counterpart.

With screencaps of the sprites that inspired it (left NES, right PC). The nakedness is more in line with the PC version (though I only just noticed the robe on the NES one in looking at screencaps); the colors are more inspired by the NES version.

With some fellow enemies from TMNT1! (I've been using that Human Torch to represent the Fire Freak, and I painted that fly a while ago to look like one of the bugs from the PC version. Mousers are Mousers.)

With Shredder and a 2007 movie Foot Ninja. (My other Foot Ninja custom is still being doctored a bit.) The Foot Clan continues to grow!

Interesting. The tint on my TV always made the foot soldiers look more lavender than.. well.. periwinkle. But it's a well-painted figure, nonetheless!

Thanks! And I'm actually working on a Shredder or two that I plan to sell... but considering some of the horror stories I'm hearing about selling on eBay, I'm not sure how best to go about it. I should just post a picture here and be like PM ME WITH OFFERS! :mrgreen:
