Disney's Christopher Robin

The character of Winnie the Pooh was created by Milne for a collection of stories in the books “Winnie-the-Pooh” (1926) and “The House at Pooh Corner” (192

. Disney licensed the rights to the bear in 1961, leading to TV shows and four feature films: “The Tigger Movie,” “Piglet’s Big Movie,” “Pooh’s Heffalump Movie,” and “Winnie the Pooh.”

Kristin Burr will oversee the project for the studio.

The film falls in line with Disney’s slate of live-action adaptations that include next year’s “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin” — which Guy Ritchie recently came on to direct — “Snow White,” “Lion King” — helmed by “The Jungle Book” director Jon Favreau — and “Mulan.”

Another Christopher Robin project, “Goodbye Christopher Robin,” is also in the works at Fox Searchlight starring Margot Robbie and Domhnall Gleeson.

Forster — repped by WME — most recently directed “All I See Is You,” which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, and stars Blake Lively and Jason Clarke.

I didn't see that. In fact, I hardly saw any of the 2015 films that were nominated at the 88th Academy Awards. The subject matter of most of them were too depressing and serious. I very much enjoyed his screen-writing work for Up though.

The teaser at the top of the poster makes it sound like Pooh's out to kill him

Like, it's the last thing I've expected from Winnie The Pooh stuff.

Is this about Christopher Robin growing old and Winnie the Pooh came to see him wondering why he's growing feeble walking with a stick, his face full of wrinkles and grey hair?

Disney really got the casting of the titular character right. I really can't see anyone better than McGregor in the role. It felt so wonderful to hear Jim Cummings do that iconic voice. He really does the capture the spirit that Sterling Holloway brought to the character. I simply don't understand why Cummings hasn't been named a Disney Legend yet. He's worked for the company for about 30 years and brought joy to so many adults and children with his numerous voices.

Completely agree with everything you said about Cummings. I'm so glad Disney brought him back and didn't go for a big name actor because they thought it would sell more tickets.
