Why don't you have an avatar?

I see quite a lot of posters, many who are very active here, in fact, that don't have an avatar. I find it kinda weird, 'cause it's a fun way to express yourself, stand out, or convey the kinda things you're into, at least I think so. I can understand not having a sig, as they can be clunky & serve the same purpose as an avatar, but whatever. For all the time I spend here, I like to get creative with mine, & switch them up every couple of months. Often times I use my own art, which I'm proud to display. It's cool when folks ask me for the source & I can say that I drew it.

For those of you without an avatar, y dat is?

I have one now, but for the longest time, I didn't really know the logistics of it until I found the gallery here on the Drome and realized I could have my own avatar, so I used it and got the one I have now.

I didn't have an avatar for a while because I didn't feel like having one.

Then I saw an avatar of 80's Shredder throwing a whiny pissy fit, and I knew that would be perfect for me, so I chose it.

I tried to upload one of the turtles but it didn't fit the necessary dimensions. I got impatient and gave up.

You can always get an image you want and resize it through photo editing software to the right dimensions.

I didn't have one the first couple years I was a Drome member because I didn't know how to get one. Then I saw that some were available in the Drome. I hope to get one of my own one day.

I've been here for 11 years and have never had a signature, but an avatar is a must. Some people become known by their avatar.

I know I still picture some older members by their avatars, even long after they've changed them.

I love avatars. They're fun and stupid. I actually have a photobucket full of my old Drome avatars dating back quite a ways. I should check that out.

I got spoiled with avatar usage since the artsites that I have accounts with got me into using avatars. Since the forum does give us the option to use avatars, I felt more at home here.
Since we're on the subject of avatars, who is on yours Powder?

I just saw this...and it's incredible. CyberCubed showing self awareness is f*cking frightening.

Kewl. Thanks for letting me know. I originally thought that your avatar was a digital pic of a girlfriend or a niece.
I do listen to j-rock *and assuming also do listen to some j-pop as well* but I don't know what the singers look like without seeing any pictures of them. :/

I didn't have one for about 3 days after I joined. Then I got the bat, then the Earthbound one, then Ralph Wiggum, and now Bill Cipher. I think I had one more. I can't remember.

I dunno. My Avatar is Eddie Murphy transforming from Buddy Love to Professor Klump from the Nutty Proffesor.
Kinda looks like he's crying though.

I've never been on a forum where I DIDN'T have one. When I was on Marvel, it was always either Black Cat or Ms. Marvel (of course). On Candlekeep, I've got an elf lass, and on Mickey's comic Tavern, I (currently) have a screen shot of Mikey from TMNT 1. (It's the shot where he's pointing to himself during their introductions to April.) Before that, it was Arwen from LotR. I've had five here, three of them of my own creation. I just love showing my creativity with an avatar.

Mine's pretty simple. Nash = God. (Or at least... Oz.)

Also, my posts are generally intended to be read as if someone making that same smirk were speaking. Some folk don't grasp that.

If I recall correctly, it was the only picture I could find at the time that fit. Suits me fine.
