Pie for sure. Esp a really good tart cherry pie as first choice. (Pumpkin, peach if not too sweet, blueberry... also good. Apple okay, but too sweet sometimes.)
Cake is okay, esp really good chocolate cake, but it doesn't take me much to have had enough of it. And not a fan of the frosting. (Long ago I ONLY ate the frosting. Now the whole thing is just too much sweetness for me. lol) However I most often request marble for my b-day. |

My current favorites are banana cream pie and chocolate cream pie. I use to really like Hostess Blackberry fruit pie. It's getting difficult to actually find Hostess brand around my area though. Never tried Peach but it sounds good.

Pie. I'm not really a 'cake guy' but I do love cheesecake. Traditional cakes do little to nothing for me. A fancypants strawberry shortcake or high-class bakery/wedding typa thing is quite nice on occasion, but pie I actually go out of my way for. I especially like warm blueberry pie with a little Cool Whip on it, that's my go-to.
Also, pizza is referred to as a pie, & pizza is one of my all time favorite things on earth, so...

Cake. Though I like chocolate pies. And keylime. And lemon. Cheesecakes might as well be a beautiful love child between the two.
I've had a dislike for pie for a while, since it was too much for my palate. But I've been able to enjoy some recently.

Cake always my thing. With the exception of anything chocolate/lemon/lime/coconut/cheesecake (if it falls in that category), I don't care for pie.

No. Cheesecake is gross.
Who does that, putting cheese in cake (or so it sounds) and making it look like pie. What is wrong with the person who made that up. As evil as the person who decided to put cream cheese in other desserts. Cheese doesn't go in dessert! Rice cakes are edible hockey pucks. Only the ones with powdered cheese flavoring though. (This is not a dessert so cheese is okay here! lol) |

I was grossed out once when someone told me mayonnaise was in the fruit salad I was eating.
I never realized how many types of cake and pie I haven't tried until actually thinking about it. Would like to try blueberry pie for sure. If strawberry cake is a thing I would like to try that too. |

I like them both.
In fact, I think every dessert is special in their own way. ❤ |

But it's not "real" cheese; it is made with cream cheese. The sweet stuff one spreads on bagels or in crepes. Had a friend once who thought it was made with regular cheese too. But cheesecake is quite possibly one of the most divine foids on the planet. Especially if it is strawberry or blackberry. My two fave toppings. Funny this subject came up- just bought one for dessert for when hubby grills steaks this weekend. I'm a cake (especially cheesecake obviously) gal all the way. German chocolate, angel food, strawberry shortcake, bundt cakes.....

Cheesecakes actually did used to be made with "actual" cheese. Said cheese actually had to made from scratch on occasion.

Personally, it depends on the cake / pie, but, I do like them both and I do like with chocolate. If anyone can make a cake into a brownie, then that would make me really happy. Angel food isn't bad either.
