Richard Corben has died.

Richard Corben, one of the artists who contributed to the early TMNT comics, has passed away. He drew several covers, including the one the Fred Wolf cartoon seemingly used as reference for their April character design. As for interiors, he did "You had to be there" and "Turtles take time". Outside of TMNT, he might be most famous for DEN, an animated short and comic book series that was remade for the Heavy Metal movie.

Oh, and in the comic version... He has no problem with his "dork" hanging out. I'd love to share some pages but I think the mods might ban me for doing so.

Through his artwork, he was able to radiate talent.

May he be able to rest at peace.

RIP. Admittedly not familiar with his work too much, though it is interesting to see his take on April may have inspired the FW version of her.

Yeah, this year has definitely not been pleasant when it comes to classic icons passing away...

TMNT introduced me to him. Heavy Metal got me into his Den series. And he did an awesome adaptation of The House on the Borderland (one of my favorite novels). RIP.

Let's not forget his iconic art for the cover of "Bat Out Of Hell" and the lesser known (but equally quite as epic) Jim Steinman album "Bad For Good".
