Does the Baxt... er... "Superfly" figure come with fuzzy hair.... like a Troll doll?

Interesting that they've gone all-in on the original figure's hunter motif for LH. Even has night vision goggles now!
Splinter with glasses is unique. Guessing we're looking at another mutated Hamato Yoshi, then. (Which also explains how Don has a pair. Might be Yoshi's old spares.) |

Designs are terrible and seem to be weird proportions for weird proportions sake.
That said the Playmates figures look great. Lots of articulation (for PM) and a fair amount of accessories. Good toys. But bad designs. |

They look pretty great. Everyone will have their opinions on the character designs but I like the weird disjointed cartoony look to them. I think the figures themselves look like the best playmates stuff in years besides maybe the last ronin figure. I also like the card art. I'll probably get most of these.

Hard pass on these figures. The turtles are o.k-ish..... but the villains look straight up crappy as Hell. The proportions don't sit well with me and come off too goofy and I know that's the art style but in figure form they look like crap. If people want these great but for me it's also great in that I don't have to hunt these down like say with the Neca line.

Combining the Turtle van with the pizza thrower is an interesting idea. I feel myself being tempted here.

After a closer look, I think this might be the best Playmates figures since the 2003 show. I love the 2012 figures but the unpainted weapons were disappointing, this new set of toys have the best of both worlds, the paint details of the 2003 series and the articulation of the 2012 figures. Dont get your hopes up on that. Looks like they are attached like Baxter Stockman's from NECA

The figure in the party wagon doesn’t have them on at all.
But upon closer inspection, that MIGHT be Leo…

NECA won’t be touching these. Any “current” movie figures are basically in Playmates wheelhouse.

After the presumed Playmates debacle with Super7, I think NECA will be avoiding anything actively associated with the Playmates toy brands, which is a shame because we will likely never see a vintage-style toy line from NECA (it also explains why NECA has been hesitant about talking openly about the 2K3 show, especially since the toy designs were more closely aligned with the toon).
