To everyone griping that Super7 designed them to look too much like the OG playmates line, consider this: that was the point! That’s the license they have. Maybe that seems silly to people who are still turtle fans, but to the Hipster buyer who sold their toys twenty years ago, it’s fun.
I could be wrong about this but I think I place the blame for that on the 1990 movie series. They chose short actors but by the time the bulky costume was on and framing decisions were made by the camera man they honestly look like gigantic behemoths most of the time. I'm not raggin' on the look, it's my personal favorite, but when I think of the 1990 movie I don't think of short turtles. And that series became how most of the general public that only dabbles in nerdery knew of them for a very long time.

I understand the point, but, they could have approached it differently. Did you see their Thundercats yet? Like the toys, but with enhanced detail and proportions. Splinter and Baxter literally look like just a blown up OG fig. Foot soldier looks same but with legs straightened. You can be toyetic without being verbatim.

Again, I'm a sucker for all things TMNT, I'm gonna buy them and enjoy it but there's room in this world to discuss alternate possibilities.

I dunno, it looks like the majority of the foot soldier weapons are on the rack to me. We'll find out...

Likely, no.
Amazing, yes.
Let's all start a write-in campaign for Scratch.
Maybe it would help lower the ridiculous prices of the original on eBay.

Not sure. Usagi is the 7 inch Ultimate figure most TMNT collectors want. To most original Playmates collectors, I’m sure the 1989 Usagi was the ultimate TMNT styled action figure. The 1990 Panda Khan was too much of a second attempt to be on the level of the ‘89 Usagi. We won’t talk about the abomination that was Space Usagi.

A 7 inch Ultimate ‘90 Undercover Donatello with an ‘88 Donatello paint color scheme could be an exclusive.

No idea. That would be Stan Sakai's call. Somebody ask him.

I wish Stan and NECA would team up to do Usagi. Hell at this point, I'd take Super7.

Super7 Ultimate Usagi would be the best figure of their 7 inch TMNT Ultimate line. A ReAction Usagi and Space Usagi exclusive would sell like hotcakes.

NECA would not get the FW toon Usagi likeness down correctly. The 1990 Topps trading cards and 1990 Cartoon Animation Art Cels featuring Usagi are the best for FW Turtles fans to own.

A Super7 Ultimate Usagi figure would take the cake of one of the best TMNT collectibles of the 2020s.

That’s all there is, at the moment. Sometime between now and October should be when the TMNT Ultimate figure packaging turns up on Toy News International or Toy Ark.

They need to include a huge surprise in wave one. Something we wouldn’t expect that is very sought after in the original line

i'd take any of those.

But I did also mesn NECA on Usagi's on world. Or do you think Super7 would nail that better than NECA too?

Did Super7 do that for the MOTU Ultimate figures?

A NECA Usagi Yojimbo comic book line would be amazing.

Super7 would do a great Ultimate and ReAction figure of the ‘89 Usagi action figure, but they should stop there.

I don’t know if there would be a large demographic for a NECA Usagi Yojimbo comic book action figure line. The lesser known characters not sell as well as Usagi. The unknowns from the NECA Usagi comic book line would not sell as even the unknowns from the Boss Studios Bucky ‘O Hare toy line.

I could see Super7 doing a ReAction line for Usagi Yojimbo comic book, but the only Ulitmate figures that seem to be in the cards are of the ‘89 Usagi and ‘91 Space Usagi.

I agree with you. It will be interesting to see what Super7 does with the vintage TMNT line. Hopefully, they’ll give vintage TMNT toy fans some exclusives of characters and repaints that Playmates never gave them with the 1988 line.

Some years back Roku Toys did two sets of statues based on the comics. They look great, but the second set is much harder to find than the first.
