What's the longest you've waited in line and what were you waiting for?

Seems like everything we do involves waiting. Places such as State Agencies, Retail stores, Amusement parks, Concerts, Bathrooms, Restaurants and I'm sure there are more.

I've waited around twenty minutes at restaurants and it's usually worth the wait. As a child I waited almost an hour for amusement park rides. Never camped out for toys or games yet but eventually something might come along that makes the wait worth it.

So what's the longest you have ever waited in a line for something? What was it for?
Was it worth the wait?

Spent roughly 7 & a half hours in line to meet Kevin Eastman, at NYCC, 2013.

He had to break half-way in for an hour long panel, at which point he ran down the long line to sign one item per person for 5 mins beforehand 'cause he felt bad. So I did get to "meet" him after a few hours, but I held out for the actual table greeting experience & whatnot. Well worth it, he signed several things for me, did a Leonardo drawing, chatted a bit, & we took a really nice photo together. Hell of a wait, though.

Maybe 5 hours, waiting in line for Ballroom 20 at the San Diego Comic Con.
I was determined to get into that Legend of Korra panel.

The longest-feeling wait was for the Likuid Art Pepsi Dome at Voodoo Fest in New Orleans a couple years ago. We had to leave the end of Lettuce's set a little early to wait in line for the next showing in the dome and we were tripping so hard it felt like forever. But I lived a thousand lifetimes inside that dome plus when we left we got to get up close to see Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, and Tom Morello perform in the rain

The actual longest wait was probably for a ride at Schlitterbahn water park in New Braunfels, my dad timed it at around 3.5 hours for a ride that was just over 30 seconds

What does everyone do for food/water during these longer waits? And what about the bodily functions after food/water intake?

Try not to think about waterfalls, or leaky faucets.

The only thing I could think of is the Wii in January 2007 (which is now more than a decade ago) when it was all sold out everywhere and you barely saw any on shelves. The Wii being such a huge fad was crazy at the time.

I didn't wait that long, but I woke up at 5am to stand outside Circuit City (lol, the store is no longer there), and they opened the doors at 7am, so it was only 2 hours. I was the second on the line I remember, and then as we got closer to opening I looked behind me and there had to be somewhere around 50-60+ people or so.

The Wii frenzy was crazy in its first two years or so.

No idea how long I've waited or what was the longest wait and line. Off the top of my head though, one of the big contenders for that spot is probably that long line and wait time for the Space Mountain ride at Disney World. Seems like it goes on for miles... lol

Waited a while with my sister and brother in law at 2012 NYCC, but I was able to get in once someone I was waiting for got there and gave me my vendor pass and left the other two to wait with everyone else. So it was a while at first, but I was able to cheat the regular wait.

About four hours to get into Hall H at SDCC for Tron Legacy panel. Nowadays you'd have to queue for about four days...

Two hours to get out of the car park at an air show. Good show, bad parking.

I don't know how long, but I remember waiting a long time to get some of the Harry Potter books. Well worth it though.

I think sometimes it's more of a pain to be stuck in a line of traffic in a vehicle than it is to be standing in a line. Maybe it has to do with the ability to go very fast yet restricted to very little movement. An air show sounds really cool. Glad that worked out for you.

Longest line I've ever been in was probably back when New Kids came to do a concert in Dallas; didn't get to go to the concert, but their folks were handing out autographed pics of the band at a local mall. Stood in line for a couple of hours for that.

The first of two Kevin Eastman meetings. I stood in line at the Heroes Convention for 4 hours and 5 minutes to get TMNT vol.#1 #1 3rd print and IDW's TMNT#1 first print signed.

A few hours tops... each time for Kevin & Peter's autographs at Shellback &/or Jetpack. Wasn't too bad and I did it multiple trips thru line (at Shellback)... or just for Shellback signings in general. FCBD last year was probably the shortest lines they had, maybe half hours wait... Worth it I think. I'd also do it again if I could... Need Peter's signature in a couple more of the hardcover reprint books, along with Kevin's in those and a few other items.... but Shellback is gone and Peter isn't likely to be doing shows anytime soon...
