Sony's Madame Web movie

Emma Roberts is considering throwing her career away:

To be honest the only thing I have ever liked Emma Roberts in was the Nancy Drew movie she did years ago.

The only real legs Sony could get out of turning their licensing of Spider-Man as an I.P. into a "universe" would be a solid Spidey trilogy, a Spidey 2099 trilogy (which if done like a Blade Runner flick could be amazing) and maybe punctuated with some luck from a "stretch" film like they got away with using Venom.

Having a bunch of bad guy movies coalesce into a Sinister Six film was always a ridiculous and awful idea.

Given Madame Web's position and connections in the comics, this could be kind of intriguing. I would definitely watch it, if only to see how they weave in the multiverse with her. (Anyone remember her part in the final arc of Spider-Man TAS?)

There's got to be something preventing Sony from doing that with respect to their deal with Disney/Marvel. Like, why in the world would they be doing a Morbius or a Madame Web movie when they could be doing Miles Morales movies as the "Sony Spider-Man"?

Simple. Miles doesn't have a huge cast of side character's and villains to work with! You could literally mine Peter's side character's and random villains for YEARS and never even scratch the surface of the full roster!

Yeah, but, You could do Venom vs Miles or anyone vs Miles. People would still watch it.

Enter the Spider-Verse did well enough for a couple sequels.

The Miles PS game did well enough, I think his an established enough character to fly solo.

Ideally I'd like to see Sony and Disney come to some kind of custody agreement. Where Disney can the film rights Peter Parker and Sony can do live action Miles. Keep the two universes separate (outside of multiverse).
