Hey, cool, I didn't expect them to have a trailer ready with the announcement!

I'm surprised they went with a more realistic & rugged style with the character designs than once might for a game inspired by the Nick toon.

Huh... so an M-Rated (Pegi 16 is the European equivalent of an M-Rating) TMNT game with more realistic looking Turtles... I know that second part is getting a lot of negative reactions, but personally, though, I would expect there's a good reason why their appearance causes April to faint or scream the first time she meets them in pretty much every iteration. That being said...

AN M-RATED TMNT GAME WITH MORE REALISTIC LOOKING TURTLES?!!

I'm hyped.

Turtles look terrible, game could be interesting but it's really up in the air. Hope it comes out on Wii U for some off-TV play.

Man, I guess I really am in the minority for liking these designs. I mean, they actually look like real turtles to me. If that looks scary in any way, it's because real mutant turtles WOULD look scary. I dig it.

I don't mind the designs either but people should remember sometimes what you see in a game trailer isn't always what you get in the final product.

I checked out the Facebook page and it says PSN,Xbox Marketplace and PC via Steam. But I don't think they would leave out the Wii U.

I don't understand why they didn't just make them look like the Nick Turtles. They almost seem like what Michael Bay's Turtles might look like. *shudders*

Maybe because they wanted to do something original? Personally, I think I'd be a lot less interested in this game if it was just a tie-in. But I guess that's just me.

Besides, based on the rating, it sounds like this is aiming for something a little more mature, and I'm not sure the designs from the Nick cartoon would really work with that.

Doing a standalone game for TMNT has its merit. I wouldn't say a new interpretation doesn't deserve to exist as a game. But, Arcade Attack.

Arcade.
Attack.

Reinterpreting a franchise with a video game is just a huge task. Base it on an iteration, and you have your designs, characterizations, and maybe even your story already laid out for you. Tested and approved by your audience.

This game doesn't look to be adapting anything specific. We're already judging the design. But we're going to judge the music, the characters' attitudes and mannerisms, the voice actors, the plot, the enemies, the fighting style, etc, etc... They could have banked a number of those factors by adapting something, but instead, it's gonna have to do everything right on its own. I just don't see why they'd want all that weight.
