It's finally happening!

Well let's hope it's good. I like the idea of bringing this franchise back to life. The beat 'em up genre has kind of died since the mid-90s.

Yeah, seems sound. I like that it's an actual attempt to -- if not radically -- update the game graphically as opposed to just slapping a new number on a game and re-using 8 bit sprites (Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10, Double Dragon 4) because nostalgia.

Looks pretty good. And the fact Dotemu and Lizardcube are involved is an added bonus, loved their work with Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap.

Never thought I'd see this day!

And it looks so much more promising than the abandoned Sega Dreamcast exclusive from many moons ago!

Double Dragon IV saddened me so much. Not because it was an entirely awful game, but that it had all the ingredients (except maybe development time) necessary to make it a worthwhile addition to the series. It's inexcusable that the Steam version routinely deletes player save data, which is probably confounded by the fact there is no way "close game" option in any in-game menu. You have to kill the program to stop playing, and when you load up a new game, it's a crapshoot as to whether your save data is still intact. Not even a peep from the developers as to any kind of fix or explanation.
Just awful.

They should bring back composer of the first 3 games.
His music was, in a many ways what made SOTR bestseller hit. Without it it would have been just a run of the mill beat'em up. Soundtrack has elevated 1st game above average and made 2nd game really cool.

That would be cool, indeed. I hope that guy is still working for Sega, and if he isn't, I hope he's on good terms with them and has the door open to come back anytime.

The problem with beat em up games is they get bad reviews for being "repetitive", no sh-t it's a beat em up game.

Looks pretty cool, hope it does well but It's a shame that other streets of rage fanmade remake game got taken down by sega because it was pretty much the same thing as sonic mania.

I have no problem with walking in one direction and hitting things as long as it's got some substance to it.

Pretty much the only ones I can care to say I despise outright are the Batman Forever arcade game and Bad Street Brawler.

That's great news. I LOVED the first 2 games, still own the Sega carts for all 3 games lol. Saying that, the 3rd game did leave a bad taste in my mouth. It was decent, REALLY HARD EVEN ON EASY, and to unlock the good ending you had to beat the game on the hardest mode which was not the case in games 1 and 2.

Can I mention that Blaze was my first video came crush lol. I believe she came out a year or so before Chun Li in SFII who is consider the first action pack female hero. I was sure Blaze was the first action pack female hero or Samus lol. I think Chun Li gets this undo credit as the first video game female hero.
