Food most people like that you don't

Inspired by the cilantro thread.

What are some foods that everyone seems to like except you?

Lettuce immediately comes to my mind. If it's in a sandwich it's OK, but actually eating a salad with lettuce n it? No thanks. And tomatoes are even worse. Their texture is awful and gross.

I could never stand ketchup. It's vile and overtly sweet. And mustard is terrible too. Anything spicy is terrible, imo. I don't see the point in eating something that's gonna leave a burning sensation in your mouth for a long time after your meal. Not to mention it's hell in your intestines. The only spicy stuff I've been able to enjoy thus far as been Pizza Hut's pizza tomato sauce. Mayonnaise can be OK wit ha slight spice to it as well.

Tbh, I don't really like sauces and condiments except salt(not too much, though) and olive oil. Is this strange? Vinegar in particular is vile, imo.

I'm also not big on sweets except a few pastries and ice crema. Antyhing too sweet or too salty is a no-no to me.

What about you?

Porridge and Oats dude. Everyone around me loves that stuff and hail it as the champion of healthy food, but I cant stand it and refuse to eat it at all. Yuck.

This is especially surprising to my family around me because I'm not a picky eater and have everything else except Porridge/oats.

Never had those. The closest I've had was high fiber cereal. It's OK and fills in your stomach for like 5 hours!

I like the cereals, but the actual oats that are softened and boiled in milk? count me out.

Ah soggy food? Then I doubt I'd like it either

Hamburgers are the only major food that come to mind. Besides that and fish (I only eat tuna fish), I eat almost all other common foods.

Fish has the issue of being quite pricey and not as filling as meat.

Coconut.

I can't stand it.

Cereal has been going down the drain for a while for me too.
Because who wants to eat dry flavorless flakes with no nutritional value in cold liquid first thing in the morning?

Most cereal people eat for breakfast is either the overtly sweet kind such as Nesquik and Chocapic(my brother used to eat that every morning as a teenager) or those Special K high fiber cereals.

I'd rather eat yogurt and a cheese and/or ham sandwich. Or just eat a couple of slices of bread and leave it at it. I know they say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and all, but I can't eat a full meal after I wake up. I'd rather save that for lunch and dinner.

Coconut? never tried it itself but coconut yogurt and chocolate is bad.

Friggin' celery.

I've never liked the taste of cooked (or even the smell of fresh cut celery), and it is often added into just about ..everything.

Yeah, don't care for celery and it's too often used as a filler. If it's in soup, I eat around it.

Where eating is concerned, onion is the bane of my existence. Also in just about everything, including things it should not even be in. (Seriously, I've seen a frozen dinner brand meal of mac 'n cheese that had onion in the list - how is that even normal??)

Coconut, bell peppers, chunky tomato, chives/green onion/scallions (among other things), are all also entirely unwelcome. If they became expensive ingredients and stopped being in everything in such quantities, that would be great.

The last ones I mentioned aren't even a flavor issue... All they want to do is stick to the roof of my mouth. I don't understand the point or pleasure in eating them.

I'm not much of a seafood person, myself. Used to eat crabs and shrimp when I was younger and I guess I got tired of it.

Doughnuts and doughnut like things. Try working in an office and not like doughnuts. I'm a pariah on Fridays

Coffee. Love the smell, how versatile it seems to be, I envy the experience of enjoying it, in that it invigorates & satisfies people so heartily, but I just can't freakin' stand the taste.
