Wow. That's...Yikes.

Although, paper foot ninjas is a fun idea in a bubble.

sdp is wrong, the names of the two showrunners/directors came up with this pitch to Nick. Look up their names they don't work for playmates.

It's like Playmates can't influence decisions...
Obviously, it had never had happened before.

They didn't design the show, Andy & Ant did. Period.

Playmates may develop vehicles or other toyetic stuff from time to time, but they're not the creative face of it.

Playmates has nothing to do with the character designs of the Turtles, or the new cast of villains we're getting. Neither did the previous 2012 series for that matter, Ciro, Brandon, and co. designed all the new mutants themselves.

I seriously can't remember the last time Playmates designed a character that showed up in canon, I don't think we've had that since possibly the evil Turtlebot toy who showed up in the 2k3 series back in 2004.

If these 'Foot' are actually paper... Too bad Raph's sai were replaced with tonfa and not flamethrowers. Super easy fight then. Donnie can have built it, and...Leo and Mikey can fart around in the background, I guess.

Well the Foot Soldier himself is human, I suppose, it's the Foot Origami ninja that are paper.

Considering that Playmates are one of the producers of the show, I hardly believe that they have nothing to do with character designs.

If you're speaking of the Turtles or the villains revealed so far, you're factually wrong. The two showrunners/directors are the ones who came up with this vision for the characters (as well as black April) and new designs for the Turtles. They work for Nick, not Playmates.

Playmates might have a hand in the vehicles or future mutant suggestions, but nothing so far.

A toymaker can play a huge role in a series, and IIRC when it came to 2k3 it was a 3 way vote, 4Kids/Playmates/Mirage for any decisions.

That's what I am talking about.

At the very least Playmates should had approved of the new TMNT designs.

The Nickelodeon Foot robots were pointless, since the Kraang were inside robots the turtles could hack and slash without any major moral panic outcry.

I think I like it better than the classic robot, though. I mean, robots were cool because the turtles could totally own them in the show, but changing it up in this way is, interesting at least.

Playmates has always had a say in the show. All 3 cartoons thus far shilled vehicles. The 80s show shilled characters and the 2K3 show shilled the variant outfits.

And of course if the toys fail the show gets cancelled regardless what the fans think of it.

Or changes format, like the 4 Kids series.
