and if it didn’t have nods to the games people would complain they don’t care.

I can not wait to see Sonic but given internet-reaction people will just crap all over the design as soon as he’s revealed.

I don’t care. I’ve always wanted a live action Sonic. Even if it turns out bad (well bad by normal standards, not “worst thing evAr!” internet standards) I’m glad they at least tried. I think it’ll at least be decent.

I'd kinda be happier seeing Sonic actually in the Green Hill Zone (I guess without the floating rings) before going to our world. Not this lame ass shout out.

It's like the Mario movie. Look! They have fungus all over the place! It's just like the games? Right???

No it’s not like that because the fictional town Green Hills is a normal place in our world (in the movie).

Sure I’d be cool to see an actual green hill zone setting, I guess it’d be on another planet, but it could very well still exist wherever they come from. Although it’s unlikely they’d show Sonic’s homeworld. Unless it gets a sequel.

Anyway there’s bound to be many more nods and references to game material that can’t literally fit into the movie. Doesn’t mean they’re “lame shout outs”.

Lmao oh hell no. They BETTER show Sonic's homeworld before he makes the jump. Even the Smurfs did that.

How is this being made in 2018? It seems some misguided movie from the 90s, hell maybe even the mid 00's but now? I mean? Unless it has the most amazing script in the world the premise alone is going to kill this movie.

What are you talking about? I just assume they’d keep as straight forward as possible.

There’s a bunch of stuff I’d like to see but there’s no way it can fit in 1 movie. The first has to establish things if it actually gets a sequel.

That's actually a pretty solid choice IMO. Some part of me thought they'd keep the VA from the games, but realistically that wouldn't happen.

So... is he going to be cartoony like the Smurfs or are they aiming for "realistic" like the Turtles? I probably won't even see it (at least not until/if I run across it on tv maybe), yet the possibility of the latter still terrifies me.

And what blue/blue themed character will Schwartz play next.
