When we first see the hotel, it it shown to be approximately 14 stories tall, but later in the episode, it is drawn to be about 10 stories tall in one shot, before going back to the 14 stories model as Michelangelo climbs the building with his grappling hook. In a later scene with the Keep Out sign in front of the building, the building is drawn to be about nine stories tall. Donatello's computer then shows a rendering of the building to be ten floors tall. In the shot with April and the building, it is drawn to be about 15 stories tall. 1. Shredder smashes April's news camera and all of the broken pieces go up, but the Eiffel Tower wasn't yet magnetized.
2. When the Turtle Van is first seen in the Paris sewer, the inside is uncolored.
3. The Turtles' weapons are magnetically thrown at Donatello, including the wooden section of Michelangelo's nunchucks, but wood isn't magnetic. Also, the Turtles gain back their weapons.

8. The word "STOP" on the stop sign in the Turtles' lair has orange letters instead of white, and the outline is olive green with a brownish background.

10. The word "EXIT" in the Lair has green letters instead of red and is missing its red outline.
11. Rocksteady says "The boss and his magnetic personality" from the Eiffel Tower in Bebop's voice.
12. Michelangelo and Leonardo's belt initial are showing their season 2 colors of a white initial and gray outline near the end of the episode when Michelangelo asks Splinter for some more down time.

Catchphrase/Insult Countdown:

5. Shredder calls Rocksteady and Bebop lunkheads when he tells them to be careful with the Ion Flow Converter.
6. April says that she should have known that old Tin Grin was behind the problem.
7. Raphael says that it's time to bring a little Turtle Power to the Eiffel Tower after the Turtles see that April is kidnapped.
8. After talking to Krang, Shredder hopes that his idiots, Bebop and Rocksteady have finished assembling the power controls.
9. Michelangelo refers to Shredder as Shredhead after he and Donatello knock Bebop and Rocksteady into the sewers.
10. Shredder calls Raphael a fool after he blocks Shredder's vision with his hands.
11. Krang refers to Shredder as a fool when he thought that Shredder didn't believe there was a large enough object to support the Electromagnetic Antenna.

Pizza References:
1. Donatello says that the Turtles have won a European Cruise courtesy of Greasy Eddie's Pizza. Michelangelo then says that he knew scarfing off all that pizza would pay off.
2. Michelangelo tells Splinter that it would be better than Greasy Eddie's Pizza in terms of vacationing in Europe.
3. Aboard the Maude, Raphael tells Splinter that pizza for breakfast may not have been such a dynamite idea. Michelangelo then says "don't bring up pizza, dude."

Pop Culture References:
1. The ship in which the Turtles and Splinter cruise is named Maude, which is also the name of a '70s TV sitcom.
2. Splinter mentions the names of some French cuisine aboard the Maude, including peasant underglass, chocolate truffles, and snails. April also mentions Crepe Souzets in the News Van.
3. The Paris landmarks featured are the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, and the Paris Sewers. The Louvre features Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

5. This episode takes place on France's national holiday, Bastille Day.
6. When one of the trumpeteers' pants falls, his underwear is shown with the Fluer de Lis, the national flower of France.

8. Michelangelo mispronounces Notre Dame and mentions the football team while at the cathedral.

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:
Raphael says "Doesn't anybody just surrender anymore" right as Shredder gets ready to battle the Turtles.

Wacky Inventions:
1. Krang's Neutronic Generator
2. The Ion Flow Converter
3. The Technodrome's Electromagnetic Antenna

Kidnappings:
1. Rocksteady and Bebop tie up April in the Eiffel Tower.
2. Shredder then takes April into an elevator car, disables the controls and locks her.

Notables:
1. Hal Rayle replaces Rob Paulsen voicing Raphael for the entire Vacation in Europe sideseason.
2. The Vacation in Europe sideseason takes place during Season 4 since the Technodrome is shown back on the Dimension X asteroid. Also, Michelangelo's nunchucks, absent since early Season 5, are once again visible in the back of his shell.
3. These episodes had a long production history. The episodes were first written in the summer of 1990 according to my personal collection of Francis Moss' scripts yet contain some sound effects and background music introduced for the 1992 CBS Season (Season 6). They were first aired in the UK during the 1992 Christmas season and did not air in the US until September of 1993, concurrent with the CBS episodes of Season 7.
5. In the US, these episodes aired in syndication on the USA Network. This causes a couple additional changes with regards to the introduction and closing. The original opening sequence and title card last seen in Once Upon A Time Machine returns. The closing credits feature a split screen that only features the French unit that distributed these episodes, and lack credits such as Voice Talent, Storyboard Artists, Character Design, Music, and other credits done by the American unit. Finally, the full end of the TMNT theme returns and plays over both the Fred Wolf Films theme and the Westinghouse Broadcast International logo, which was the international distributor of Group W Productions and the logo features a red W with yellow text on a black background.
6. The unedited versions of these episodes never appeared in the US until the DVDs were released in 2009, since USA Network had a practice of editing out their episodes in favor of commercials, promos, and Cartoon Express segments.
7. All Vacation in Europe episodes were animated in France.
8. The final appearance of the Shredder's theme background music cue is used.

9. At various points in this episode, the Turtles' eyelids match the colors of their bandanas instead of being green. For example, Michelangelo's eyelids are orange instead of green when Splinter says "Remember" while he holds a slice of pizza. Also, Donatello's eyelids are purple right after the whirlwind from the clock takes the Turtles to the 19th century.

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:

3. The Tricertatons fire their Laser Prison Generator and kidnap a bunch of humans behind a pink laser cage.

Townsend Coleman: Michelangelo, Koro
Barry Gordon: Donatello, Japanese Guardsman
Renae Jacobs: Female Warrior
Rob Paulsen: Raphael, Oroku Sancho
Peter Renaday: Splinter, Hamato Koji, Head Samurai

Mistakes:
1. Shredder's ancestor goes by the name Oroku Sancho, which would make Oroku Shredder's last name, but in "My Brother, the Bad Guy", Shredder's brother is called Kazuo Saki, and in "Shredder's Mom", she refers to Shredder as Oroku, implying that Oroku is Shredder's first name and Saki is his last name.

11. Shredder calls Oroku Sancho an idiot after he calls him an imposter.
12. Shredder calls the Turtles miserable Turtles after he returns to the present.

Pizza Reference:
At the end of the episode, Michelangelo delivers a pepperoni pizza telling the Turtles that it didn't exist back then.

Pop Culture References:
1. Some of the portraits inside the museum of Fine Arts are paintings by Harmenszoon van Rijn Rembrandt.
2. After the Turtles remove their cloaks, the Head Samurai calls them Tengus. Tengu are supernatural creatures found in Japanese culture. The name Tengu would be reused in the 2003 4kids cartoon, notably as one form of The Shredder.
3. The Sama in the name of the Shibano Sama shrine is used as a Japanese honorific suffix.
4. In Japan Koji may refer to two eras, one during the Heian period from 1142-1144 and another during the Muromachi period from 1555-1558.
5. Koro is named after a Japanese incense burner.
6. Michelangelo describes the dragon as Godzilla's great granddad.
