This is probably true, but I just wanted to ask to confirm; were the flyborgs that Baxter Stockman created a tribute to Baxter's two fates in the two previous TMNT shows? (fly in Fred Wolf, cyborg in 4kids?)

Yes, I believe I read that somewhere, that that's what they were. A sweet & fitting tribute, I think.

I don't know if this is too spoilery, but is there a chance of ever seeing Lord Dregg in the comic? The Nick show has done a pretty good job with him and it would be cool to see IDW's take.

You'd have to ask Erik Burnham as he created them. That would be my guess though.

Hey, another question; when should we be looking for an announcement on the details and summary of TMNT universe's first story arc?

August Previews should be out in mid-May. Beyond that I'm not sure if you're going to get much more than that.

I'm going to do my letter to the editor the lazy way. Okay to print:
Hi, Bobby and everyone at IDW! I've been reading since I found #1 at Floating World Comics when I lived in Portland. Your book and every micro, mini and crossover has followed me every month across a couple more states since. Thanks for creating such a high quality, "ultimate" version of the TMNT, one that uses all 30+ years of their lore while still trying new things too. It's what I wanted from the property for years before y'all made it happen. But instead of boring general praise, have some specific adulation: I love the crossovers. I grew up with the old Archie and Mirage books, so I'm used to seeing the boys meet other comic characters. Ghostbusters and Batman have been great; the X-Files tie-in gave me nostalgia. Let me suggest hunting down the Infestation tie-ins to anyone who's jumped on the book more recently; that TMNT/Cthulhu mythos story was one of my favorites the first year, but it wasn't collected in the TMNT trades so it's easy to miss. Crossovers have always been a TMNT comic tradition, and it's great to see IDW stepping up to the plate, even if not all of the results are "canon." If you're planning future crossovers... Might I suggest TMNT Meet Afterlife With Archie, for old time's sake? Looking forward to Bebop & Rocksteady Destroy Everything, and especially the TMNT Universe ongoing! I'm so ready for a Tales-like companion to the IDW book. -The Czar of the Northwest |

Bobby, what's up with Peter Laird's annotations in The Ultimate Collection vol. 6? He seemed really bitchy and uninterested, and had nothing at all to say in the last 2 stories. Conversely, Kevin at least offered a lot of insight, even in the stories he didn't have much to do with. Peter's comments (or lack-there-of) made a bad impression on me. The turtles made him rich and famous, but disregarding them like this can only result in him losing fans. If he had nothing to say, why even agree to partake in this?

I doubt he's gonna lose fans over it. We've all known his personality to be that way for like 15 years at least. He's tired as hell of the TMNT, & makes no bones about it.

Most of Ultimate Collection 6 consisted of short back-ups from various Mirage artists and from the Shell Shock trade, so PL didn't have anything to do with the writing/art of most of those. Its understandable he wouldn't have much to say about them. Also he posts his opinions in a blunt manner, but you can tell how much he appreciated the art and stories since he usually complimented the artist who created them.
If there is ever an Ultimate Collection 7 I'd be more than happy to see both Kevin/Pete back again for commentary. |

Bobby, just a silly little curiosity here; do we know what each of the individual turtle's favorite Pizza toppings are? Oh, and I know it's not important, but might there ever be a chance we'll find out what Yoshi's four sons real names were?

No plans for their real names-- it strikes me as something that doesn't need to be known. If there's a story reason for it in the future, then sure! |

Hi Bobby,
This has no doubt been asked a thousand times already but, will IDW be reprinting Image Volume 3 once they're finished with Tales of the TMNT Volume 2? Feel free to refer me to a previous answer if need be.

No worries! The answer is I don't know at this time. I've heard various things pointing in both directions.

Thanks! They were an awesome army of grunts to give Baxter, far more effective than JUST the mousers!
