"Not out of the question."

Curious how much closer this move would bring Disney towards monopoly status.

I'm open to this I guess

It could provide the perfect opportunity for the Fantastic Four and X-men to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which may be set to experience a "reboot" of sorts after Avengers 3/4 if Thanos or somebody resets reality with the Infinity Gauntlet

R-Rated Marvel Movies Not Out of the Question

i'll believe it when i see it.

and by see it i mean, sit through the movie (if it happens) and judge if it's actually good.

Dangerously close. But not at, like, the same level as if there was rumblings about Disney buying WB.

What if they can make Deadpool movies on Netflix? it can still keep the R rating.

Possible.

But even with their Netflix offerings, Marvel has been keeping things "clean." No nudity, no f-bombs... Deadpool is still just too much for them.

Well if Disney owns 20th Century Fox, they can still make R rated Deadpool movies, its not like Disney can tell Fox what movies they can and can't make.

Kind of like how Marvel let Disney make its Big Hero 6 animated movie, which doesn't tie into the MCU.

If Disney is serious about buying-out Fox, they could make Deadpool work in the MCU. It would actually be pretty funny if Deadpool still tried to drop f-bombs but they were bleeped Deadpool can break the 4th wall and crack jokes about it

If this happens, this will be great for Phase 4 of the MCU.

Oh yes. Honestly I wouldn't even really care if they let the X-men exist in their own separate universe, as long as the Fantastic Four and their associated baddies got to be incorporated into the MCU proper.

Dr. Doom would be the perfect villain to move on to after Thanos, showing everyone that you don't have to be a Mad Titan from Space to do awful things, you can just be a crazy dude who's been in a bad accident

Just look at how crazy this is, if Disney owns 20th Century Fox, they would literally own franchises like Alien, Predator, Planet of the Apes, Kingsman, and many of franchises that they own.

I love Marvel films and I love Fox Marvel films. I'm not sure I want them to come together anymore. I've learned to appreciate the competition, the quantity of films, and the varied tones that comes with having multiple studios owning these characters.

That said, if Marvel announces they are making an X-Men movie, it would probably be my most anticipated film. Like I said, I love what Fox has done with Deadpool and Logan, but the color and vibrancy that Marvel could bring to the X-Men world would drive me wild.

I'm happy with whatever the outcome is.

Way too terrifyingly close. I really hope it falls the hell through. I abhor Fox in all of its forms, but Disney's no better and the last thing we need is for them to have even more power.

I'm fine if they take over. Marvel and Star Wars are doing well under them.
