IDW will probably have published more TMNT comics than Mirage by next year.

So I just counted and noticed that IDW will not only have the longest TMNT comic by issue count, they will probably have published more issues containing all original material than any other publisher by next year, including Mirage. It's pretty close but if they continue to realease at least 24 issues per year, they will reach that goal.

At least in the ongoing, #7 already made TMNT hit that mark. Then you add all the mini series, Universe and specials to that, and yeah...it's pretty much happened already.

Not in # of pages. Most Mirage comics are like triple the size of any IDW comic.

Actually, most Mirage issues are about 25-30 pages long. Most IDW issues are 20-25. Mirage issues are longer on average but certainly not 75 pages, which they would be if your claim was even remotely accurate.

The truth is that it's more like 5 page difference on average, about 20%. That threshold will be crossed pretty quickly as well.

Just pulled out #2. 40 pages. I remember "Hall of Lost Legends" being up there, too. The City at War ones a bit skinnier, sure.

It's inevitable really, Mirage took long breaks without new issues whereas IDW has been going on since 2011 and has spinoffs, mini's, Universe, etc. all coming out at the same time.

Checked that too, IDW has already taken that record by about 100 issues. IDW has about 220 issue published (including the kiddy stuff), while archie has about 120. For the record, Mirage has about 240.

I'm using avarages here because it's not really worth checking what's mostly original content and what isn't, the task is too great for a forum post. As long as it's around a 10 issue margin of error, that's enough. The point is just that IDW has clearly overtaken Archie in terms of published issues that aren't reprints, and is close to overtaking Mirage as well.

Does the mirage total include Image? Or anthologies that weren’t all-Turtles?

Considering we had TMNT Universe as a spin off series and all the micros and miniseries, also the ongoing passed Archie ongoing, I am confident they passed Archie already.

I am hoping that this new movie will be a huge success and help boost the notoriety of the IDW series. I feel like if the first two movies had been successful that IDW would have a bigger following.

Image? No.

Anthologies? As long as they're technically part of TMNT, like Fugitoid.

Thanks. So which anthology titles did you include?
