Weren't the Bene Gesserit's plans kind of subverted by the birth of Paul? I mean, they intended for "the future to be female" but the prophesied superbeing ended up being male.

Cool. I'm not sure why they're just doing a Bene Gesserit spinoff show when Dune as a whole would work better as a TV series, but okay.

Yeah, it's very disappointing in that way. I was kind of hoping Dune would follow the model that "The Dark Tower" was going to follow initially (before it changed and failed)... where it would be one movie, then the rest of the books on TV.

So basically all the men in charge at the top quit and have been replaced by all women. Also, two of the actresses have been swapped out.
https://www.darkhorizons.com/three-r...e-tv-spin-off/ I wonder what happened behind the scenes? And again, of all the books of Dune out there, books about the rise of the Harkonnens, the war against the Thinking Machines, they want to do the Sisterhood (based on a book barely a decade old and didn't even really make any ripples) as their first TV show? Apparently totally staffed by women? Seems to have a certain slant, doesn't it?
