Keep in mind too that producer Chuck Lorre is known for being rather salty about what little credit (as in monetary residuals) he got for being the person who penned the original cartoon's theme song.
The odd part about Young Shelton is that Batman ‘89 was not referenced in any episode so far. I think I may have seen the comic book adaption of Tim Burton’s Batman in the background of one of the episodes set in 1989, but Sheldon has not watched it on videocassette like my cousin used to in the early 1990s. Tim Burton’s Batman was a big deal in the Bush Snr. years and now the generations watching Young Sheldon won’t know how much that film meant to Generation XY back then. My fingers are crossed for a Batman Returns mention.

From what little I've seen of this show, I get the feeling it centers more on Sheldon's academic background and his relationship with his family rather than his love of geek culture. That being said it would be fun to see an episode about the time he attended a convention hoping to meet Will Wheaton who was a no-show at said event.

Young Sheldon and The Haunting of Hill House have some of the best TMNT references I have seen.
