Top 50 January Sales are in.
https://icv2.com/articles/markets/vi...s-january-2022 This time, there truly is no excuse for Superman: Son Of Kal-El. Issue six is the last DC title on the list at number 47 by Units, and dead last at number 50 by Dollars. One can believe Taylor's corporate sales spin on twitter all they want, but it's not his job to sell you reality. Sucks for PKJ, the failure of Action Comics alas shows that nobody will fork over good money for a GOOD and well thought out Superman story either |

Dark Crisis announced from DC
https://www.gamesradar.com/dc-dark-crisis/ Joshua Williamson confirmed on twitter that Death of the Justice League is a flash-forward, meaning all the books won't be affected for the time being and are set in the past, so that pretty much tells you there's going to be no raising of stakes in them, so no point reading them. Brilliant idea guys. |

The Justice League is too busy to die! That is what it means. They cannot afford to be absent from the book, but for six or so issues of a mini-series based around their absence.
Hal Jordan, Dick Grayson, and Wally West lead a bunch of diverse heroes through mourning only for them to return at the climax and defeat the ultimate darkness-sales.

I might be right in the 3 I care about being at the forefront Dick, Wally, and Hal. This reeks like a second attempt of force-fed diverse heroes that were rejected with 5G. The 3 I want to read about are straight Caucasian men who have a long history in the universe. I guess I am a stubborn bigot in DC's eyes. Justice League: Future State was the most boring Justice League story I ever read. I don't see this being a needle mover but a sales spike for a couple of issues of a title. Nothing more.

If you have never had an interracial kiss, had gay sex, or had sex with a transgender person, and have no desire to do so or watch OTHERS do so... Then you are indeed a bigot in the eyes of the people who control the media, yes.
I mean... You didn't know that? |

Still I actually am invested because it looks like DC is letting Dick, Wally, and Hal step up. I don't care how Jonny Come Lately Diverse Characters react. Let's kill off Jason, Barry, and a few others to allow impact to actually be felt. If we get Future State Justice League before January of next year's conclusion,I will not pull that volume. I guarantee it will bore its way to poor sales and be forced to be an unintended maxi-series.
I know that you like the two Alan Moore stories right that at the end, but what are the handful that are good to you? I know that we have different preferences, but if its O'Neil, Wein, Engelhardt I will give it a read.

You can always go to ReadComicsOnline if you fancy a trip...though nothing of course makes up for holding a book in your physical hands and smelling all that antiquated paper

Pariah breaks bad and attempts to end the current version of Earth in favor of his own lost one. The replacement Justice League will go after him and the Justice League will return. We kinda already saw this when Alex Luthor Jr. broke back attempting to bring back his own Earth. Looks like a smaller scale Infinite Crisis.

Yep.
The DCU ended with "Brightest Day". I don't know what the hell anything they've done since is trying to be. |

Earth-1 Satellite era always be my preferred choice though. I wonder if the back issue bins see a lot more business when DC throws crap like this? It sure makes me!

For me DC ends with Rebirth and Doomsday Clock. Batman ends with Tom King's second annual.

But that means acknowledging Flashpoint and New 52-era stuff. Ewww.

So timeline-wise: New 52 starts with Justice League (2011) #0 and the continuity ends with #52 which ends its Darkseid War storyline to bookend the line and the title? From there its Rebirth#1 bringing back the real Wally West and that builds up to Doomsday Clock. Then it gets messy. Doomsday Clock happens before Dark Knights Metal but after Dark Knights: Death Metal? I initially ignored the 'Metal' stuff. After Death Metal its Infinite Frontier? Now from Infinite Frontier to Dark Crisis? My favorite era is DC 1975-1983.
Also, the needlessly adding to the history of evil is getting beyond confusing. Perpetua was assigned by God to develop the multiverse but The Great Darkness infected her so she refused to die like she was supposed to and had three children, two of which are The Monitor and Anti-Monitor. Who is the father? Each 'crisis' is manipulated by whatever this darkness is starting with COIE which includes Zero Hour and Doomsday Clock along with the the three Crisises. Dark Crisis will be the end all, huh? Didn't Death Metal suggest that? Since Doomsday Clock took so long to produce I was not sure which was more important Doomsday Clock or Death Metal. It's funny how much PR is trying to spin the importance of it when it looks like the most easy to overlook. So, what is everyone getting out of the back issue bin these days? After my last haul of Batman: The Man Who Laughs and Batman: Noel I walked away with Batman: The Gauntlet and Batman: Black & White (1996)#1-4 set this time.

Having New 52 around is worth putting up with seeing as the Superman featured in it was just a double created by Manhattan and Diana finally realized she never loved Clark truly and moved on permanently from him, which pre-flashpoint never truly resolved. The last few specials they did also tied up conflicts with Luthor and Sam. |

So in Nightwing today, they bring back Risk, aka the Titan that had both his arms ripped off by Superboy Prime in past events only to have him killed off by The Rising
We also learn Jon's group the Truth are bankrolled by Dick |

I am wondering if the success of one run and outcry from another is enforcing an interlocked story to suckered readers of the successful one onto the other. I will just go to a certain website if necessary, but does it read like a neccessary pick up of Son of Superman#9 or can I just continue from #89 to #90 without a problem?
