10 strange stories of the Silver Age in DC. I know all three Batman mentions and Fat Flash, but did not know the others. I thought I would show it to all to pass along the amusement. I do like the late Silver Age though.

DC's July Solicitations reveal Lois and Jimmy's books are not ongoings, but two 12-issue maxi-series. Smart move.

So much homoeroticism between Bane and Thomas Wayne in this issue of Batman. Put some pants on, Bane, geez!

This is the bit where I update people on how late Doomsday Clock is, but at this stage everyone's lost interest. DC have a fresh excuse for bad characterisation and weird continuity now (source wall break and Perpetua)

Yes, #10 pushed back another week, now ahead of Memorial Day weekend. Meanwhile #11 will not be released until August 7th!

Also, I got to ask, what was the point of this?
Spoiler:
And lastly (you know you’re thinking it)… if Wally had time travel tech, why not just travel back a few minutes and prevent the accident from happening in the first place?

This made for Really? with Seth and Amy on Weekend Update. I still done get how the idea of suddenly planting a PTSD facility pretending it was always there to show it does not work and tick of fans of a certain character.

Bendis is... not great.

Some people think he's great because Wizard Magazine spent most of ten years telling people he's great.

But he's not great.

Yeah, I saw that. On the one hand, I hope it's true. King's been terrible since, oh, "I Am Suicide". That was what, only his second story arc? Third if you count the "Monster Men" rehash stuff.

I can count on one hand the issues he's written that I've liked. The double date stuff with Lois and Clark, and the Selina/Talia stuff. That's it. The man's a nightmare.

All that said, I hope he gets to finish his 100-issue arc. Just for the sake of letting us all see it crash and burn spectacularly. And I hate incomplete stuff. Let the man finish his arc, for better or worse.

Details have emerged on Tom King's dismissal from Batman.

https://www.bleedingcool.com/2019/05...m-king-batman/

Turns out DC Editorial never liked the run, Bob Harras in particular, and found Tom a pain in the ass to deal with. The low sales of the Knightmare arc were the excuse they were looking for to drop him. Apparently King will be allowed to finish his story in the pages of either Catwoman or a seperate title

I've never understood the appeal of Tom King.

Never liked his Batman. Never liked Grayson. Didn't like Vision, didn't like Mister Miracle, didn't like Sheriff of Babylon. Sure don't fvcking like Heroes in Crisis.

Not a fan yet not a hater. Regardless, The Green Lantern has oddly interesting as it is is only drawing an average 46k copies sold which is far less than the main Batman title. The main Batman title sold really successfully pretty much since Grant Morrison started on the title no matter the writter or direction.

So if he is cut off at #85 does that mean he has 20 more issues to write in other titles? Are they going to do what Grant did and get to a stopping point in a title and continue it in a new book rinse and repeat while the main title takes on a different writter playing off his predecessor?

Seems to be the cycle that's happened since Morrison, Scott Snyder's final vision for Batman got it's own series too

Tom King officially off Batman after #85, gets his own maxi-series. (Which I guess is a 15-issue miniseries.)

Yeah, Batman is also going to cease double shipping also.

Not sure how Batman/Catwoman is going to pan out, I've seen it described as still being in continuity, but Catwoman's ongoing is continuing, so how that works around the series will be interesting...unless Bruce and Selina's relationship going forward goes the same as how Bendis treats Superman and Lois, where the two are committed and in love, but are comfortable leading their own lives.

Or it could be they realise they've become different people over the course of the series and decide to stay frenemies...and we table the relationship for a while until another writer wants to explore it.

Just neddling you. Anyone who writes the main Batman title gets overly praised fairly or unfairly. It is just the way it is.
