The crossovers with the OT means they aren't just going to another universe but also time travelling

I'm in the group that says significant time does not pass in cartoons, unless specifically stated. Bart Simpsons is still 10 years old. So as far as I'm concerned, the turtles are always 15. They're only older in cases like the 4Kids episode Same as it Never Was, where 30 years had passed.

I'd like to think that it couldn't have been any longer than the actual run of the show.

Maybe it works like comic book time in that the year is always moving forward, but the set events of the series happened, it's just the point in history when they happened isn't really set in stone.

I think it lasted approximately as long as show was - for about 10 years, maybe less, if count that the last 3 seasons had very few episodes.

So 6-7 years give or take.

If someone really wanted to they could figure out how much time each episode covers, 1 day, 2 days, etc and add that up over all of the season to give you how much “real world” time the show actually covers.

So if you said each episode covered an average of 2 days, then 193 episodes would have covered 386 days or just over a year of actual time.

Obviously. It accounting for time in the real world that an episode doesn’t cover when nothing happened, or no adventure occurred.
