Ugh, my family is starting up that "influnce me to go into politics" bullsh*t again. They think it will make me more patriotic, and that my arguementitive skills will come into play. Ugh, just shoot me now. If I do anything they consider unamerican they flip out, but it's not as bad as it used to be. I think they're realizing that I just don't give a sh*t and that getting ugly about it makes me just tune them out (not that I don't anyway).

So you aren't the typical patriotic american, huh? Tough luck... for your parents. If you really want to show them how you think, then burn a US-Flag in your yard.
Seriously, just endure it a little longer, I mean, as far as I remember, you're 20 and it isn't long until you move out, right? Then you can be as unpatriotic as you want.

Bah. I got fired yesterday.
No biggie, but I am once again unemployed. And that sucks. 7 months... It's time for another wacky job application adventure.

What a bummer Ben. Did they give you one of thoes "I'm sorry but we have to let you go." speeches?
I, myself, am still job hunting. I was working for a couple months, but i quit to move. Finding a job at my age is pretty difficult especially when they see you have no real experience. I've done lots of volunteer and community service, but that doesn't seem to count for much. Of coarse I guess if I wasn't so picky about what job I'm doing I might get one faster. I just would not be able to stand working at a fast food resturant again. Terrible job on so many levels...even tho it has its few fun points. you pretty much have to have a degree to flip burgers anyways these days . |

A Busboy at a Bar-B-Que place called Grady's.
The more I think about it, the more relieved I feel. Washing dishes in 100 degree heat is not enjoyable.

Does it work at all? Just as well to say what they really feel. "Look there's no easy way to say this. We don't want you anymore...get out...and don't come back...not tomorrow, or the next day. Think of it as a permenant vacation." |

Being unemployed doesn't suck... at first. Just see it as a long holiday. I mean, if you sit there and go "Awww, nay, I was fired... what shall I do?" all the time, you'll miss all the freedom. I was unemployed until 10 days ago. I now work in R&D... for now. We destroy things and get paid. Great job that is. Plus, my boss is an old 68-rioter and has great experience with motorcycles and motors in general. He's a cool guy and very not-so-bossy. He calls himself an "Old Anarcho-guy" which makes him even more fun.
Ehm, I go off topic... yeah, enjoy the fun while it lasts and finding jobs isn't that hard if you know where to look. Are there some sort of places you can go, where they find a job for you? Sort of a job-agency? Most of the time these jobs are only temporary and limited, but they pay good money.

I guess the good thing about it is that I'm a little more experienced.
And thanks, Rob.

Fired from your job? Then there's no better time than now to live your dream, and go ramblin' through the American southwest, getting into adventures, Kung Fu style, Ben!
