Looks like I didn't miss much in the month I've been away... Got a new computer, and it's already starting to tick me off. The speaker won't work, my security software refuses to update and the left mouse button keeps sticking.
You can take the shadows out of the ninja, but you just can't take the ninja outta the shadows... or something like that... the heck did I even say?? Point is: WELCOME BACK, DUDE!! Says you... and everyone else I know. Only one thing I didn't like about it was Spoiler:

*drops head on desk*
I can't take unemployment any longer... I just called the hiring agency I'm going through for the Visa Center, and NOW they're telling me the training might not even start until October. This means Another friggen month of sitting around rotting away. If I'd known that it was going to take this long, I would have looked into a summer course at UNH. I'm so disgusted right now.... |

My car has a 'paid for, hit me!' sticker on it, heh.
I'm sooooooore. But no one was hurt, so that's the most important thing. Thanks for the well wishes, guys. *hugs*

My best friend called me a few minutes ago, bawling. Her uncle just killed himself.
I honestly don't know what to say to her in this situation. I barely knew her uncle and I cried too. She was really upset because he never said goodbye to her. I did my best but I never know what to say when this stuff happens. I feel like a terrible friend.

No one really knows when to say in situations like that. It's not like it happens very often. Don't worry, I'm sure just being there for her is good enough for her.

Another thing to complain about- These past few months, we don't know what happened to make her like this, but my sister takes literally an hour to go to bed every night because she gets hysterical about missing my mom. She'll get up and go to my mom's room and go "Goodnight mom, I miss you, I love you," in tears, at least twenty times a night, no exaggeration. Sometimes she doesn't even make it back to her room before going back again. She just turned 9 today, and we have no idea what could have triggered separation anxiety like this. She does the same thing when my mom tries to leave to even just go to the grocery store. We have no idea what to do.

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend, Hannah, that's terrible. Don't feel like you are a bad friend, just give her some space and be sure to be there for her when she needs anything, even if she just wants to vent.
As for your sister, have you tried getting her some psychiatric help? This sounds like a pretty serious situation.

I'm with you on the John Stamos! "Forever" got stuck, well, forever being associated with the time the Beach Boys guest-starred on Full House, but it was originally written by Dennis Wilson and released on the Beach Boys' (awesome) Sunflower album back in 1970. It really is a beautiful song. I wish people would look past stuff like "Barbara Ann" because they really have some excellent material. Sorry, despite them pretty much being before my time, I'm kind of a big Beach Boys geek.

Ahhhh, when she does vent to me I still don't know what to say. I manage a few "I'm sorry"s and that's about it. I told her I felt bad because I didn't know what to say, and she said it's cool and that she wouldn't know what to say either.
And my sister, I asked my mom that a couple days ago and she said she wanted to see if she could fix it first before going to a doctor.

As for your little sister, I'm sorry to hear that...my little sister went through something similar to that around 7 or 8. It turned out that she had heard my parents talking about their wills and assumed one of them was going to die. Maybe it's something like that. Anyway, I hope everything works out for her soon |

You don't have to say anything, just being there to listen is enough.

There's nothing you could do about that but listening and being there for her, since it all already happened and is irrevocable.

Yeah, all you can do is be there for her. Just let her vent, cry whatever it takes to get the grief out of her system.
