Denver The Last Dinosaur reboot

This kinda came out of nowhere!! It premiers this month in France and I think September in the U.S (where it's being called Denver and Cliff). There'll be 52 11 min long eps... Denver looks a bit like a gecko to me. *lol* It's from the same folks who do that Miraculous Lady Bug show and is CGI.

Spoiler:

I remember when this was talked about a couple years before Miraculous Ladybug came out.

Will he still be "something more than a friend?"

Will the new series have the same gag of putting Denver in sunglasses and a coat and no one not knowing its a dinosaur?

I rented the old cartoon VHS tape from my local library a bunch. I can't say this was a series that demanded a reboot though. Very much a product of its time period... "rocker dino with a Generation X posse."

For some reason, for 20 years this has been logged in my head as "Dino, the Last Dinosaur."

I can even hear the song in my head. "Dino, the last dinosaur... he's our friend and a whole lot more!" Mandella Effect!

Yeah it's kind of a sneaky release but this happens a lot with these French productions. I first heard of it about 4 months ago or so but all the info on it was just a photo of the new denver who somehow looks less of a dinosaur than the original.

Even though I loved dinosaurs Denver was a little before my time so it was too 80s for me and I didn't like watching it too much. I still watched some reruns because he was a dinosaurs but that was the only thing. I literally can't remember anything about the game besides the song.

I think I"ll check the show out but only to practice my French and because it has dinosaurs, it looks pretty awful, here is the promo they made to sell the show, apparently it's been on youtube for over 2 years now and looks as generic as you can imagine:

OMG I loved Widget as a kid and was sad when they took it off the air

I don't think Widget will get any revival though, the only reason Denver is getting one is because the company that owns it WEP is still in business and the only property that is somewhat known besides Voltron is Denver so I'm sure they've been trying for decades to get something done with the property.

I did like the original show when I was very young, but after seeing it on Youtube a while ago I didn't really have a nostalgic feel for it in a good way. The show was a product of its time and clearly doesn't hold up well in today's world. Even if 1987's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles doesn't hold up well either, it still has lots more charm and better episodes than this series. Three years ago, Cam Clarke (Mario, Shades) was pleasantly surprised to find out at Awesome Con that people remembered Denver the Last Dinosaur. He talks about it from 6:55 to 8:15.

Also, not to be forgotten... "Dink, the Little Dinosaur," which aired on CBS Saturday mornings around the same time that "The Land Before Time" hit theatres.

Here is the intro song to the show:

It does look like trash for kids but Dinosaur Trash in French for kids so this will be perfect for me who's learning French and kids tv shows are the ones I understand without subtitles perfectly

WEP's official youtube channel has plenty of episodes of the old show, maybe I should watch some of those to remember how awful the original show was.

It's not like the original was any good and at least they kept the original theme song...well a non-rock version anyway.

Cam Clarke shared a behind-the-scenes photo of him and the original cast from 30 years ago.

Looks like this new show has amalgamated Mario and Shades and thrown in a gender swap.

I always thought those two were basically the same character.

Hope this show does well.
