Favorite DC animated series?

You can vote for more than one on the poll. I thought The Batman was the weakest of all the shows put out so far, but since it was aimed at kids I let it slide.

I am really liking Young Justice currently.

My top favorite shows are Teen Titans, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Static Shock, Batman and Superman TAS, Young Justice, and Green Lantern.

I love them all, but Batman TAS wins for me. YJ is my second favorite, with JL/JLU right behind.

Yes, but The Batman was far more dumbed down than the other shows. Only Season 4 could really compare with the quality of the other series.

I get the most enjoyment from watching Batman TAS, and it's one of the shows I grew up watching. It would be my #1, but Justice League, Superman TAS & Batman Beyond are very high on my list.

Brave & the Bold & Young Justice are very good also, but it's impossible for them to stack up to the Bruce Timm-verse in my mind. Some incarnations of Super Friends should also get an honorable mention. They can be really fun in a corny 70's Hanna-Barbera sorta way.

-Batman: TAS
-Batman Beyond (although in the UK, they called it "Batman of the Future", as they actually thought kids wouldnt be able to comprehend "Beyond" MEANT THAT)
-Young Justice
-Teen Titans
-Superman: TAS (Season two onwards, S1 isnt a fave of mine)
-JLU

The Batman was really a victim of bad timing...it wasnt even coming AFTER JLU, it was slap bang in the middle of it, it was the root of the infamous Bat-Embargo that prevented Batman villains from being used further in JLU (though this was a good thing in my opinion, as the writers were forced to plunder the DC rouges gallery more instead of relying on the Bat library), and because it was a more toyetic and more kiddish approach...and not in a way that complimented or had fun with two sections of the audience (unlike Brave and the Bold, which knew how to cater to the hardcore comics fan whilst being fundimentally for kids). It's first two seasons, while very ropey, have some underlooked gems, as Greg Wiesman worked on a few episodes. It got better once the DCAU guys jumped on board, but the fifth was let down by the team-up concept that would later give rise to "Brave".

The Batman is defintely underrated, it didn't come after JLU but at about the same time people still hadn't let go of the DCAU Batman as it was still airing and this was not him. S1 also has it's fair share of stinkers which did not help the reputation, but overall S1,2 and 3 have plenty of great episodes, S4 also has tons of great episodes but I also hated that it basically became BTAS lite. The last season however is indeed terrible.

Teen Titans is basically what got me back into animation, their non-serious approach was a big pull for me and I loved that it could still be intriguing and being tongue in cheek at the same time.

Brave and the Bold I feel is overrated, sure it's great but not the greatest show either, it's a fun take on Batman but I think TT did it better. Also I don't think it actually gets great until S2.

The DCAU Timm shows are all great as a whole even the less remembered Superman and Beyond is probably the best series of the bunch. Static Shock which isn't Timm is ok but nothing special.

Other DC shows, well Krypto was actually kind of fun, Legion isn't too bad and would've liked to have seen more of it, S2 made up for a lackluster S1. Green Lantern so far I've only seen the first 5 episodes and I haven't really been able to say I really like it don't know what the fuzz is about.

Going with the kickstarter, Batman: TAS. It paved the way for the rest and is still great to watch today.

No love for the Superfriends? Or the Filmation DC series even before that?

I can understand that, those are pretty laughable. I mean, Batmite in EVERY episode of Funimation's New Adventures of Batman...BOOO!

Batman TAS all the way. I loved the dark tones and the deco art, I wish they would make new seasons based off the first 3 seasons. I still watch the series any chance I get. Second would have to be Batman Beyond, Superman and then Justice League.

Justice League got my vote, just barely beating out Batman TAS. In truth I like just about all these shows, even The Batman and the new Green Lantern CG toon is pretty nifty. I'm really digging Young Justice right now too.
