Bobby & Marty together again!

http://www.moviehole.net/201023541-b...together-again

I think it's safe to say that Robert De Niro reached the bottom (see "Righteous Kill") and is now working his way back up - as evidenced by the terrific, tearduct-teasing "Everybody's Fine" (which sadly only lasted about a week in theaters stateside before going the direct route to DVD). And with news of a possible reunion with (his "Mean Streets", "Taxi Driver", "Raging Bull", "Goodfellas", "Cape Fear", and "Casino" director) Martin Scorsese, seems we *may just be able to forget "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle", "Hide and Seek", "Godsend", "Showtime", "Righteous Kill" and (dare I say...but seriously doubt I'm the only one that thought it sucked) "Meet the Fockers" ever happened, after all.

There's **** all info on the film Bobby and Marty are reportedly doing together, but the Oscar Winning director - whose newie, "Shutter Island", opens this week - does state it'll be a "Gangster" flick (yay!) with De Niro assumingly playing an old crook looking back on his younger years.

''We're working on something like that, but it's from the vantage point of older men looking back, none of this running around stuff", ABC News quoted Scorsese as saying at a "Shutter Island" screening.

Now there was talk of De Niro playing a part (possibly as a corrupt senator) in a prospective sequel to "The Departed" that Scorsese was toying with at one time, but that idea seems to have been iced like leftover ham steak for the moment.

* It will take time. And possibly, drugs. But it will happen.

I know Righteous Kill wasn't great... but it wasn't near as bad as you're making it out to be.

Anyways, I've known about this forever. It's gonna be about Jimmy Hoffa and mob connections with the Teamsters Union in the 60's and 70's. It's called "I Heard You Paint Houses".

Also, I can't find a credible source on who's directing. But either Scorsese or Michael Mann is supposedly directing another De Niro movie called "Frankie Machine", about a retired mafioso named Frank Machianno.

A project between these two has been in the works for many years (as evidenced by the date of this thread) but it's finally coming together.

Just today Pesci was officially confirmed to join in! Shooting begins next month.

I'm sure my dude Nines must be as psyched as I am.

Sounds awesome. Just get Ray Liotta and you'll have a hell of a reunion.

Saw it. Great movie. 3 1/2 hours but didn't really feel like it. I've read it described as seeming a little jumbled between "it is an mob assassin movie?", "is it a labor union boss movie?" and such, but it didn't bother me. It's less like "Casino" and more like a much meatier "Goodfellas," with maybe a lot more fat. But that's OK.

The CGI de-agings weren't perfect. Maybe even creepy at times. At others, certain shots, astonishingly good. Still, it was kind of weird to see people calling Robert DeNiro's de-aged character "kid" when he's moving around. But whatever. Great to see such a reunion.

Spoiler:
Stay for the end credits. Tony Soprano steps out of the shadows and says "I'm putting a team together."
