What a mess. Did they really have to go back and change that much? Even while axing the show early, they seemed to skip forward and throw in things that we all assumed would be tying into the movie anyhow, so it's not like they left it off at a bad spot.

Though I remember an early quote from one of the makers of it that the movie was, at that time, intended to be kind of a connector between seasons, so maybe their bridge to nowhere needed to sort out how to actually conclude it instead.

This was announced in February of 2019, They likely had already started some preproduction before the announcement so they've had more than enough time to get this movie out, it's a tv movie also not a theater release, I don't buy that they're still working on it, it must be finished already. The only source that says they're still working on it and it moved to 2022 has no real citations either. I do think it's true that it moved up but the whole "still being worked on" I don't buy it.

The second season of Ris was announced July 2018 for 26 episodes and we know that halfway through the production they cut the episode order of season 2 to 13. That must've been shortly after the movie announcement. They still had time to finish the season and give it a finale and all this happened at around the same time production had just started for the movie so it's not like the news of the cancellation came as a surprise. The timeline doesn't add up.

I still stick to my theory that Netflix is just holding on to this at a time when they have nothing to release and they drop it. If it's a series finale to a show no one watched and it's on a streaming service no one has what's even the point to advertise it or release it soon? It's the same if they release it today or 1 year from now, it'll have the same audience of people interested in it since any advertisement from the original show was gone by the time the second season started airing. Unless of course this movie was cancelled late in development and something unrelated to Rise was made but that's just wishful thinking.

It'll likely be an hour and 20 minutes like DC's animated movies. Basically the length of 3 episodes.

Who else thinks that they'll use the Nickelodeon Movies logo from The Loud House Movie? ... Then again, it might be a no brainer.

Do you mean 4 episodes? 80mins into 3 don't go (easily)...

It's been a while, I can't even remember the length of a Rise episode, weren't they like 15mins each? Short, sharp episodes.

I've tweeted Netflix and Netflix UK several times, zero response.

Someone, somewhere, knows something!

Whose strings we gotta pull to find out what's going on!?

I just want to see the movie so we can close the book on the Rise of the TMNT era for good. Why can't I close the book?

It's a digital book, it can't close the way you're trying.

You don't have to watch it just because it's Ninja Turtles,Cubed. I closed the book on it as the credits rolled on the series premiere noting it was not for me.

I did the same with The Next Mutation back in 1997. After the first few episodes I was all like "This show is so corny!" and I just stopped watching it. Never thought about it again until I joined TMNT-L.

As for Rise, I did enjoy certain elements they brought, like Michelangelo's artistic nature being more prominent and I loved the whole backstory about Hamato Yoshi being an action movie star with an alias. A good friend of mine feels the action scenes were on point, but the overall comedic tone really wrecked it.

If it comes out, it comes out. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Frankly at this point...
