Mirage Volume 4 - Number 32 Update

This past Tuesday, Eric handed me the original pages and basically said that if I wanted to finish inking them, to go ahead- that he wasn’t able to.
This was exciting news to me- I’ve had a little obsession about this issue, and the fact that that it was done, but never finished, always kind of bothered me. I don’t blame anybody, and getting it out there might not make any difference at all, however I’m pretty certain some of the old Mirage fans might appreciate this small furtherance in the TMNT series 4 saga.
So- since earlier this week, I’ve been noodling on the pages, with the ultimate goal (naturally) of finishing it. The few pages that I’ve done, I’m pretty happy with however I must admit that very often, when you have 2 inkers on the same book, the results are a little un-unified. Not sure that’s a word, but you know what I mean- the art doesn’t really look cohesive. I do notice this on the done pages, but hopefully, it won’t detract from the finished book. Maybe I’ll post a completed page in the near future.
Anyways, I thought that this might be of some interest. The page posted is from 32, and shows the degree of inking already done. There are some pages with much more, and perhaps a few with a little less, but I think it provides a little inside glimpse inside the backstory of this issue.
Woohoo!

Jim posted this on Facebook not long ago.

I sure do love Jim sometimes. Probably one of the nicest and coolest guys I've ever had the pleasure of having a very short correspondence with.

I follow his page on facebook as well, and I really enjoy his sketches and everything.

this is great news. and finally... an actual update regarding its progress.
i don't care if the inking is a tad inconsistent and detracting. quite frankly... its completion matters most. jim lawson IS awesome.

I've long since lost interest in Volume 4's storyline and long since given up expectations of PL ever finishing it.

But after all this time, I'd still like to read it. And I think it would be a nice sense of closure for Jim.

Just saw this on fb. Not only does he give us this sneak peak, but he also gives us a huge explanation.

Thanks for sharing. Vol. 4 ain't my favorite but I'll definitely check it out whenever it's available. Any idea how this would be released?

I'm imagining it would be the same as issue 31. Just released online. The best we could hope for on this would be one of those websites that prints them on demand I think.

I don't understand why this issue wasn't finished a long time ago. The whole thing is done besides being inked, why was it not uploaded like #31 rather than just left to sit there?

I guess they just had things to do other than work on a comic that's on hiatus...

Is 31 still available online anywhere?

Everytime a new issue of Volume 4 gets teased I remember the series started in 2001 which was 11 years ago.

It might sound lame, but I think the best way to see more Volume 4 stuff is if we go on his blog and remind him how much we want to see it. For a while there he was fielding a lot of vitriol and while he'll never admit it, I have to imagine that took a toll on his motivation to finish it on some big level.
