ToSte Kustom TMNT

Most of these have been posted here and there but I don't think I've had a consolidated thread, so here goes:

I'm not sure what you call the style of these three, I guess I was going for kind of an anime look or something. Smooth and limited details:

Back when I was into MiniMates I did a Casey and a couple of the Turtles. I'm not sure what I did with the Turtles, but I don't think I ever finished them. I made this cover using the Raph figure.

Here's a Slash I did with the intention of selling so I could get the wife something decent for our anniversary. Yes I feel dirty and cheap. The buyer asked that I paint the nails black. So if you ever see him on the net with black nails, that's the same one.

Like a lot of you I have a bunch of POS figures. I thought I'd paint a few just for the hell of it. This is the only one I actually got around to:

This was sort of an imitation/jab at Playmates re-use of vehicle parts. I tried to keep it as simple as the old toys and make it look like something Playmates would have put out back in the day. I just recently made the stickers for it which really finish it off, kinda went for a graffiti look. I guess the idea is it's a street vehicle that Bebop and Rocksteady can run around in rather than have to drill holes through the earths crust everywhere. Something B n R would have slapped together.

A pumpkin I carved a couple of 'weens ago. It's a custom pumpkin, right?

I was into these perler bead things for a while. They're good for making sprite art. Yes, Rocksteadys coloring is a bit off, no idea why I did that.

This is something I just finished this month. I'm big into hot rods and the whole kulture. Huge fan of Ed Roth, so this was done in attempt to rip off his style. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I always hated the pizza throwing turtles, but with the bulging eyes and veins and bony hands it just fit perfectly for this. When I was planning it out I noticed that the same year the pizza throwers came out was the same year that the Party Hearty Wacky Wagon was supposed to be released. I don't think it's a coincidence.

That's it for now. Questions, comments, and critiques are welcome.

I remember the Punk Wagon from the custom contest. Very very cool. What kind of paints did you use, and did you use a sealer? I have a junker van I want to repaint and I'd like it to look as clean as yours, I was thinking of using spray paint.

Also really like the bebop and rocksteady sprites. You should do the turtles from Turtles in Time or the arcade game next!

Cool hot rod turtle, did you sculpt the base party wagon and clouds and manhole? It looks like a piece of art.

Wow, awesome job. I love the "Party Pooper Wagon", I would've seriously bought that then and now, too cool. I love your Rat Fink-esque Raph too. Very inventive way to use a crappy variant. I've seen your Slash before too, but he is still great to see again. And even though I'm not a fan of Sigma 6 style, yours are great.

Keep up the great work man, you have talent.

Yessir, I was envious of your interview back in the day.

For a lot of stuff I use the cheap ColorPlace paint they sell at Walmart, which usually works pretty well. But for this van I used Krylon Fusions. I'm not sure if it's really better, but It turned out tough as nails and didn't need any sealer.
The van in the Fink party wagon is actually a model kit.

The manhole cover started life as the base to a spool of DVDRs. The little details are bits of balsa wood.
The tire smoke is some Loctite Powergrab that I had left over from putting up some moulding in the bedroom. It cures hard as a rock and is actually what is holding the van upright and it's what's holding it to the base.

The figure that was used for Shredder came with the blades that are on his forearms, and he also came with the blades that Slash is wearing. The blades on Shredders shins and shoulders are bits and pieces of shurikens and stuff.
