Wasn't this project reported to be canceled?

It was held back after the purchase for strategic reasons but they finished the entire first season worth of episodes which is like 26 or 52 EPs. They always said they would be released one day. But they didn't want to focus on a comedy now.

This brings back memories! Not seen that in years!
Like sdp says it was delayed indefinitely after the Disney buyout as they wanted to re-establish the brand properly before doing a comedy series. Basically they didn't want Detours to be the first thing the new generation of fans saw that featured the classic characters that were coming back in Episode 7. Still kinda hope they release the completed episodes some day. |

It's not good but it's George Lucas bad instead of Kathleen Kennedy bad, if that makes any sense. So it feels refreshing in a way and not much worse than what we are getting now.

I wonder why they never released it. It's a parody but the Lego Star Wars movie is already a parody making fun of the franchise so I don't see how this is any different.

Alright, after some digging I eventually found it. It's trash, complete and utter garbage. You know how one of the common criticisms of Family Guy or Robot Chicken is that it relies far too much on pop culture references or disturbing imagery because it's just not funny without a reference point or shock value? Imagine five minutes of Robot Chicken that can't really use pop culture references because it's set in a fantasy world, or shock humor because because it's part of a franchise that isn't allowed to get too extreme. Then add in one of the most paper thin Family Guy plots you can think of and some Star Wars characters. That's pretty much what this is, a short, spineless version of Family Guy that can't even fall back on making fun of pop culture.
