I like to believe he is exactly like what he's like in his "Extras" role (as himself).
Can't find it on Youtube anymore, but here it is: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1244631358976810

If nothing else, Pat does have a sense of humor. Makes me morbidly curious if he'll guest star on Lower Decks or the Orville.

Not surprised:
https://www.goldderby.com/article/20...AXpgXoZ0MOqKpk But wait, I thought the narrative was that Stewart didn't want to come back, and would only come back if the show was drastically different from TNG? And he forced them to make it that way or he wouldn't participate?

I mean he also probably realized this was his last chance to ever play the role of Picard again. He was 78 when he accepted this role, he knows he may not be able to act for much longer so why not?

Dorn hasn't been contacted about season 2 at all. Or he's lying.

In an attempt to better wrap my brain around the series (and also because my listening to The Shatner-verse novels hit a snag) I listened to the audio book of the Picard Novel: The Last Best Hope. It helps a little with one issue I had with the series, the synthetics (they are a "lesser" form or synthetic life than Soong Style Androids, and thus no sentient, something that makes Bruce Maddox less than proud of his accomplishment) and worsened another, why the Federation is the only group helping the Romulans evacuate…including their own government/empire.

Data died terribly in Nemesis and the film had no resolution that it was set up for. They bring Data BACK in Picard, only to kill him off again, with Spiner giving the explanation that it was a "softer" death. It's not softer to relive that for a beloved character at all. Pathetic. Picard is killed for the sake of "clear sacrifice" so that mouth-breathers "get it". And brought back as an Android, yet looking exactly like he did and so on. The whole story was a mess. Why kill Picard at all? Why not use the android body for Data as a way to bring him back yet explain that he can and has now aged like the real person he always wanted to be? SOooo much more. The sudden and opportunistic need to make Seven bi-sexual with Raffi?!? Social shilling. Raffi.... just Raffi. Ugh. I don't know. That show was like "we are going to bring him back for all the fans who loved him. But we are going to service phony millenial values even though they don't respect the past shows, care about the continuity or any of it. Picard was a damn tragedy. And I know we don't want to think it, but who knows how long Stewart is going to be alive? Yet they put Picard in a synth body over a nonsense ailment that could've been cured in that century, AND as bad as it would've been they should've just passed the torch to another actor and "younged up" Picard by the transfer. It would've sucked but it would've been better. Picard was pure Hollywood liberal BS masturbation. It was the kind of business meeting that goes way off track and the clowns in the room literally throw any **** idea at the wall to see what sticks while the other clowns in the room feed it. By the time the meeting is over, the business plan is a disaster, but all of the business fools are smiling like they did something magnificent. |

Yep! Despite that always being the case with Data's body (they told us on TNG that it ages to suit the passage of time).

He's kind of our only hope, at this point (making Picard flesh and blood again, undoing the crap from season 1). Not that I trust any of these writers to know what to do with him at all.

No, they will do something with Q where the outcome is just as "WTF?!?" as what they did with Data. Remember, we are in clown world now. It's like a version of Earth after it was filtered through hell where everything is against nature, backwards and is completely the opposite of what makes sense.
