This thread made me some how sad and happy at the same time.
When I was a Kid I only had the first Leonardo and other figures but I was missing splinter, bebop and Rocksteady they where hard to find where a lived. One day my grandfather came back from church with a big smile on he’s face and said “Look what I a got for you the turtle figures that you where missing and they where so cheap”, I was so happy at first but then I realized that they where Splinter and Rocksteady bootleg versions, the plastic was so cheap and the paint felled pretty easy, I think that they where the karate Turtle version. I never said anything about it, because he didn’t know (Besides he was the one who bought me all the toys I had) and he was so happy I just gave him a big kiss and thanked him. He died like 5 months ago that’s why this thread brought lots of memories, I miss him so much. Last edited by shinefra; 07-10-2009 at 11:28 PM. |

Well I might as well share my bootleg story.
I think my first turtle was a bootleg one and I didn't like it and eventually shortly after it only got real ones. I once found a bootleg turtle on my backyard though that some kid probably threw and lost it there and I remember really liking it since the bandana looked a lot cooler and he just looked like an evil turtle. Anyways I moved to Mexico City recently and I was hoping to see if I'd find any cool TMNT bootlegs but sadly none so far. In fact you can't even get real ones here besides some of the first waves of the movie turtles and the SOTA turtles in collector stores. |

Official Bootleg Thread
I guess this is where I post pictures of my two Argentina Bottlegs. They are very low quality bootlegs. They both have flimsy plastic bubbles stapled, not glued, to a 1988 Raphael card. they have the origins comic and an unheard of six back. The photo of Leonardo has his sword cut off, but you still see the handle in his hand. The only information printed on it is Industria Argentina. The plastic from which the figures are molded is very rubbery not hard at all. Similar to the toon figures except a lot more flimsy. The paint is cheap and appears to be water based. The Pizza face is missing fingers teeth and other details. The paint jobs themselves are different from the original

100% bootleg
they are def bootlegs dude.
the quality is so horrible there's no way it's an officially sanctioned playmates release. the weapons are the wrong colors and the plastic they're made from is so cheap the Dollar store wouldn't use it. Since they are stapled down Ive opened them before to examine them closely. the paint chips off at the slightest touch. I have thorough reviews for them on youtube. Search for Channel Six News. |

I've seen that April before, but man alive, Pizzaface? That's an awesome and obscure character for a bootleg. I'd love to get my hands on one.

I'm new here, just wanna share pics of some booties I own. I've gone through the whole thread and haven't seen any of these (excluding broken links, etc) so hopefully these are not repeats.
Giant Turtle with erm...katana and large sai-like sword. Donnie, I suppose? Don again with shellcycle and battle axe? Off with them heads? Giant Shredder with battle axe and blade! Not hard to imagine a cartoon scenario for this. Size comparison with the real thing. |

Hi and welcome to the site. You got some really nice stuff. That Shredder is really sharp. I would've bought that if I saw it.
