While I really couldn't care less about Green Lantern, I'm VERY pleased to see that DC and Warner Bros understand EXACTLY how to make up for that terrible atrocity from 2011.
Apparently, one film studio is actually smart enough to learn from its mistakes!!!

I actually liked the first one but I know what's wrong with it. That said, this sounds like a great way to reboot the thing and make it fit with new DCU.
Guy Gardner or We Riot.

I would like to see Ch'p show up in this movie too, Marvel has Rocket Raccoon. Ch'p kind of looks like a squirrel or chipmunk, and he's one of the members of the Green Lantern Corps.

2020 release date? Why on earth would they announce something now so far away? All the actors will be 5 years older by then, how do they even know they'll still be capable of the roles 5 years from now?

I really hope this gets made. It NEEDS to happen.
And I'm not even a Green Lantern fan.

I have said before Aquaman and Green Corps are the two projects thst interest me. Sure, the convoluted origin of Green Lantern did not digest well and eas rushed (Parallax presence prime example of both) and Hector Hammond is uninteresting. Yet I am a fan of Hal Jordan and like to see what can be done. The Death Wish in space concept had me sold. Hal deserves a second shot and I welcome John Stewart onboard for the next ride.

It could be buddy-cop stories in space with all kinds of alien creatures, ships, etc. Maybe some Guardians of the Galaxy style humor every once in a while.
I don't understand why the studio hasn't run the concept into the ground already.

What I don't get is, why did WB block GLs from being used in Arrow and Flash... only to be too chickenshit to do anything with GLs (yes, I'm aware of the do-nothing cameo in it) in their Justice League movie? Why on earth would I care about a JL movie with no GL in it?

The Green Lantern(2011) film was not that bad and how could it be the fuel to avoid Green Lantern? It is not Batman & Robin level more like Daredevil(2003) level. Let the filmmaker make his/her movie and don't cram too much in or it will all feel wasted. I am still hopeful for a Hal Jordan/John Stewart buddy cop in space film. No convoluted origin, watch the budget and it will be fine. I still don't see why the performance of any movie would bar a character from a group that always includes him if not one of his number. That makes even less sense.

They got chickenshit as soon as they made those posters. "The world isn't ready for more Green Lantern yet!" Please.

I thought it had more to do with them eliminating part 2 of Snyder's JL plan. I remember reading rumors that the end in the original script was going to have GL come to Earth after the JL defeated Steppenwolf to let them know Darkseid was coming.
