The Nunchuck Duel in the First Film

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiBSrocGagM

Anyone else absolutely love this scene? Mikey's casualness of his movements, The foot's reaction to it, and the finger spin at the end. I'm actually in the process of making a short film right now, and there's a plan to film a homage to this scene in my short. Since it is the 30th anniversary of the film, it's to perfect time to do it.

And replaced with padded footage, lots and lots of padded footage. It made the scene play like an assembly cut, but it did include a nice moment of April pulling the rug out from under a soldier's feet.

Part of me strangely prefers the UK version and I'm not sure why

I've watched both equally and now scenes from both cuts have joined together in my head.

Heck, I loved everything about Mikey in the original movie. He was genuinely funny and did seem like a cool kid to be around when needing some emotional support. I could see why Raphael would be more close to Mikey when needing to cool down.

Yes it is.

The only difference is the film presents the duel at a standstill and the fight doesn't begin until after Mikey says "Keep practicing!" In the script, it still happens at the beginning of the fight, but it has already begun and Mikey has already dispatched two Foot Soldiers with his nunchucks.

Assuming the link still works, d_osborn posted a link to the script on Page 4 of the 30th Anniversary thread.
